What is a tribe? Do you tend toward following the new, connoted definition of hard delineations between peoples/groups/etc or toward the primitive definition of shared understandings/culture/language/etc? Tribes can be as small (yet large) as being part of the left-handed crew to the Mandarin speaking tribe to your sex or your hair color or or or or anything! Yet, we seem to be in this time where, particularly politically, tribalism is something that has become weaponized in the USA. IF you voted one way, then this must mean _____ about you; this is where separation, hatred, resentment begin to compile.  What's most interesting about this episode is how difficult it was to GET STARTED! Vibrationally, I already felt some eye rolls at the mention of men in this very touchy #meToo societal point. I implore you to bookmark that for another time and allow the distant memory that men in our particular society, specifically of color, often don’t have the same mentorship & guidance from older, established men in their groups. The reasonings for this discrepancy are wide & varied, we all know them, so let’s bypass the WHY to instead move on to what can be done (my POV on essentially every societal ill)   The mental strategy for this table was to compile a group of ethnically diverse men to speak on their personal #experiences in regards to the men/lack of models in their lives. As happens in #production, that didn’t quite come to pass. With three men of color & one white, I felt a lot of pressure to find a way to diversify this setting. But how?   Thanks to someone in the room who said, ‘wow, when do you ever see this many men come together to talk about their feelings on men, typically a feminine thing that they shun?’ 💡 Even in @theshop or any other heavily male show, feelings aren’t the focus and are evaded.
