Adventure Filmmakers: Driving 10,000 Miles from the UK to Mongolia
On today's episode, I talk with Olie Martin and Jack Rubinstein. Long time friends and collaborators, Jack and Oli started their creative journey as adventure-driven filmmakers in 2011 when they took part in the Mongol Rally driving 10,000 miles from the UK to Mongolia in a skoda fabia with a yak-shaped roof box. That journey was turned into a feature-length travel doc and released on YouTube. Following on, they both worked for the BBC Earth’s YouTube network, where they spent time in the wilderness with a Sami Reindeer herder, held the heart of an Amur Tiger, and met the main man himself, David Attenborough. They’ve since branched out on their own, Oli to Austria where he's exploring the Alps and developed films for Red Bull and Jack to Australia as a freelance filmmaker and to build up his surfing skills.
