POTUS 1: Washington & The Men/Women Who Created the Presidency

He was the first to raise his hand and take the oath, George Washington.  When this national hero reluctantly took the job, he quickly realized he wasn’t just a figurehead, he had to figure out what exactly the presidency was.  So like any good leader, he recruited some of the country’s best and brightest to help him, and while they didn’t always get along, they did create a brand new, uniquely American Executive Branch, that is still somewhat familiar today!
