Deterministic Historical Inquiry

As Long As You Love Me
E20 In this episode, Tim and I discuss our college updates. Tim has gone to do a new route that he is excited about and I am in full of support. I discuss about my new relationship to the social work major and also how it relates to philosophy since social workers are essentially philosophers.  The main topic of the night is love. Our opinions on this subject tend to change on and off all of the time. I don't believe there even exists an exact account of what this subject is, although we form our own independent functions on this universal experience. Is love a feeling? An objective? An emotion? Our own benefits or shared support? We may never know, however we will always believe our opinions to be reality, and in these cases, it will appear as objective reality. That is all that matters.  We are FINALLY caught up with editing episodes and are finally back on time. No more episodes to edit. We are back on schedule. This was recorded about two-three weeks ago.

Why is Philosophy Important?
E18 in this we talk about why philosophy is relevant, and should be studied and taken as a serious subject. Without, we have no general basis or foundation for any principle. We also talk about if hell is other people or the individual.  LEAVE A REVIEW ON ITUNES

Instagram Shamstagram
E17 the capatilistic practice of advertising is ruining our abilities of comphrehensively increasing our brain developmemt.

Independence, Introversion, & IDM
E17 In this one I can say it is interesting. Long and many convesations exist. I now live alone and I am facing a different reality. Tim analyzes me on the subject. We talk about our averse distinctions between intro and extroversion. Following that, I try to make sense as to why popularity in high schools are construtred hierarchies, that to each of their own components, are reduced to equal value.  Finishing it I talk about Intelligent Dance Music & its' importance to experience.  There are some editing funny moments in it but you'll understand it anyway.

Essence of Friendship w/ Hobbes/Locke
E16 This ep is loooong and we're trying to make them like this from now on.  Topics include: almond products, friendship, music, thomas hobbes and john locke, and many more I don't want to write down bc lazy.  ALSO FAIR WARNING WE DIDNT USE A POP FILTER FOR THIS EP

Shoveling Snow & The Royal Family
E15 Enviornmental capitalism is also a topic. This entire episode seems like one big mistake. If someone finds any pleasure or any uplifting feelings of learning something then I'm super glad we did this.

Is This Cyberpunk?
E14  This episode was recorded on January 31, we were talking about new years and stuff because we didn't hang out until that day since we had our pod hiatus and ran out of time to hang out.    There are only two things we largely discuss. Cyberpunk & our New Year's reflections. Shorter but hopefully still entertaining.  Heres the link to the photo:  https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/7tffou/this_photo_of_toronto_looks_like_a_scene_from/

A E I O U - Empire
E13 This episode was inspired for the fact we wanted to complain about black friday and that it's the day right after Thanksgiving.    The first part of the ep will test your patience, but it does actually get better. Please excuse our looooong series of banter about thanksgiving. I didn't want to cut out all that because the ep would only be 20 minutes or whatever and I despise a podcast that's under a half hour.  I talk about listening to yourself and following your true heart (when you're a kid). Remember what you believed in and what you wanted to be when you were young. I was going down the path of apathy and my life became Instagram and snapchat. It was time to rewire and recognize my ill-existence and acknowledge I was avoiding myself from what I want. More importantly than that last fact, I had to say out loud I was scared of letting go of being nothing. It is at that time the world becomes it's scariest and you feel as most vulnerable.    Go back and be the person you wanted. Stop caring about your friend that's obsessed with their medical degree.

Squier Stratocaster
E12 Funny how on this episode we talk about procrastination, and we didnt even record an entire episode. We kept delaying it and eventually either forgot or decided to just continue on with future episodes.  Tim is a good guitar player

Hand Me Down
E11 Song: Fullmoon by Kettel & Secede   I dont know how to go over these anymore. Most of it is what we do to have fun while saving money for the new Spyro game.    As you can tell these episodes are from 2017. About 10 episodes away from catching up (shrugged shoulder emoji)

I Should Probably Get A Headlight
EP 10   Fair warning: the audio goes up and down on volume levels. be prepared. We have better equipment for future episodes so dont get used to this quality.    This episode is basically two long conversations that could have been done in 5 minutes, but instead took over an hour and we decided to record and share it for reasons unknown.

The River Meanders Towards The Sea
E9 This is a continuation of episode 8 pretty much. Tim goes over his struggles and I just give an update on my life. We mention our future interests and stuff as well. Pretty boring episode IMO. Better to come.    Aphex Twin - Vordhosbn

Peaceful Rain Driving Towards 2nd River
E8 Sorry for the dog interruptions, I mean not really but I guess I should bring it up. For this one we blabbered on and on for I believe our longest episode yet. This doesn't count towards quality though. Content wise it wasn't the absolute best episode we've ever made. For a podcast episode, it doesn't sound as good since it was more of a one on one conversation without thinking about the microphone. We hungout for quite awhile that night and spent a long time messing with the drums and guitar.    I pull out an interesting book "What on Earth is Going On?" by Tom Baird and Arthur House. I give Tim some scenarios, and Tim goes on to be brave and exhale his deep feelings and concerns that we all as individuals hide.    I will always vote for driving in the rain!!!

Galvanized Self-Pluralism
E7 In this episode Tim and I briefly talk about my desire to make a music video. We then go on for most of the episode talking more about identity and furthering the self. I wanted to highlight the importance of remembering you are a breathing human who has control over all decisions, and you can overcome any anxiety that may prevent you from going forward. There is more to you than what you do, and as one of my favorite podcast hosts from "Blink 155" says, "there is more to Bill than the people that he's met." We do our segments after. Thanks to strfkr for letting us use the song.    Listen to Kettel & Secede - Fullmoon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hzl-yl2LYw The article on simulation: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/next/physics/physicists-confirm-that-were-not-living-in-a-computer-simulation/

National Anthem Protests & The Monty Hall Problem
E6 This one is a little different. We discuss the dilemma of the NFL and the debate between the national anthem and if it's within the rights of the players to protest. We finish the episode with a good brain teaser. It is understood if this episode is the most boring out the ones we all put out so far. Tim and I recognize that we can't just babble about stuff, so we're looking forward to providing interesting content in future episodes.

Asteroids & Geology. Is Pluto a Planet?
E4 Tim makes a change in his college career. We talk about studies in general and I go on a monologe as to why I'm tired of the social work major. The power of communication is key in this E.P. Tim says we've been communicating for thousands of years so I was able to take that with a grain of salt :) We give our biased opinions on medication. In all seriousness we understand that depression is serious and just going out for a walk or finding a hobby won't cure it.  Tim talks about stuff from his Historical Geology class. He names like 20 different kinds of rocks and minerals.  I follow-up Tim on the 'supermoon' question.  As you now know, I love the moon. Following that, I love outer space! I talk about everything asteroids. And the most important thing of all...... IS PLUTO A PLANET? PLEEEEASE BE YES.  I also have saved a little motivational message for the end... somehow the name "Mike Tyson" comes up so... get hype.

Logic: Hurricane Irma & The Moon
EP3 Boy do we have a good one for you!  In this episode we begin with some housekeeping from last episode and I (Jonah) talk about my semester begininng. Tim brings up Hurricane Irma and the declination of the state of Florida. This is also the time of year in which adult women become overly excited about a certain flavor of coffee (no spoilers!) I then go on about my philosophy obsession and intend to discuss logicical principles in the best way possible within the limitations of language. PHEW. What a long sentence. Logical fallacies are the main branch of logic that I touch for today. Tim brings up Himalayan salt and the health benefits to Americans.  I am also obsessed with the moon (plz dont hate me) so Tim and I go on a solid dialouge.    ALSO we obtained some new equipment so hopefully everything starts sounding better (as well as the content quality) *winky face*

Self-Introduction, The Internet, De-stression? And Hello!
Hello pod universe! Welcome to Amalga. Amalga got it's name from the word "amalgamate" which means to unite two parts together (us two colliding together in intense conversation. Yes it's so not cliche). At this space you will hear Tim and Jonah discuss all topics ranging from: our daily lives, psychology, social work, treatment, philosophical musings, comedy & humor, scientific analysis, life struggles & depression, diet, astronomy, and anything else that stimulates our vulnerable human brains. In this first episode we discuss random topics and it sort of goes chatoic because we talk about a lot of different things, but we highlighted that the internet, coping with stress, and planning goals are the hole in ones of our first episode. We hope you enjoy this one, because the poor audio quality will try to fight against that. Just a heads up, it's going to sound like that for the next episode too, (but dont worry you'll be enjoying it anyway). Even if you like it episode 2 better, the third one will sound much better, so by then we will be your favorite podcast on iTunes! Thanks to Polyvinyl records for letting us use the song!
