Happy Monday pod fam! Sorry speech path’s about Alex’s bilabial plosives this week. Let's get slugged
EPISODE 116./Starting off this episode a little chaotic off the back of our very first hate mail and a VERY happy engagement to friend of the pod, Armadale Liv! In beauty news this week, Sunday Riley has been certified as a B Corp, more retailers have joined the TerraCycle beauty recycling program and we discuss the top paid beauty influencers and their reported income per post, per platform… so juitzy. In launches: Jaclyn Hill’s new priming and setting collection has been revealed, Bread Beauty has launched in Sephora Australia and Vieve is about to drop a highlighting product! P.s we were wrong about Vieve … it’s totally not a powder. Moving into a beauty breakdown, this week we’re discussing slugging. Not the wormy kind. The K-beauty skincare trend that’s doing the rounds on tik tok and promises to reduce trans epidermal loss of hydration. So what is it? And do you need to try it? Let’s discuss. This week we trialled the Dr Dennis Gross Intense face tanning wipes. They’re an AHA/BHA/DHA delight combining light exfoliation with a tanning glow. The boy who cried wolf
EPISODE 115./Good morning everyone! (gooood morning Lisa and Alex). We have some important news for you all… Things around here are going to be changing. We had a catch up with our friends at Acast this week, and we’re keen to get our listener (that’s you)’s input on the updates we’re planning to make to our show! Please tune in to provide us with your feedback - we do this for you and would hate for you all to hate our podcast if things change too dramatically! You can DM us @allbasescovered.pod or leave us a review on Apple Podcasts to share your thoughts on our suggested changes. Getting into beauty news… This week we’re coining Jeffree Star as the boy who cried wolf after an ill-timed accident that he was involved in over the week with a long time friend. Reality or fake news? You be the judge. Speaking of people being dodgy, this week it was announced that James Charles has been dropped by Morphe and Demonetised by YouTube. New things this week include weddings, babies and product launches from Ultra Violette, Hourglass, Esmi, and Lisa Eldridge. This week we trialled the Dior Backstage Face and Body foundation. Not to crime is a prime.
EPISODE 114./Happy Monday everyone! Not a heck of a lot of beauty news circling around the internet this week, so we’ve got a little to cover before jumping into a beauty breakdown and a review of the Vieve eyeshadow sticks. In beauty news, you’ll recall a mini saga last year when it was realised that SPFs out of Korea weren’t performing to the standards they were claiming. Krave beauty released a statement this week with an update on their extensive lab testing of Beet the Sun. Next up, we wanted to give you an update on Lisa’s Sculptra filler procedure. You’ve been asking, so she’s here to share and Alex has an update about the Mecca Vitamin C serum after using it for an extra week. Bringing you long awaited Beauty Breakdown this week, we’re discussing primers. What kinds there are, who they’re for and whether you ACTUALLY need one. It’s a lengthy one with an in depth breakdown so buckle up! Finally, we’re finishing this episode up with our review of the Vieve Shadow stick collection, our beauty faves, non beauty faves and snacksss! Products Mentioned: Stila one step correct: http://bit.ly/31RtGTX Primeriser smashbox: https://bit.ly/2Qyv7H3 Hourglass mineral veil primer: https://bit.ly/3mUwADy Silk canvas liquid primer by tatcha: https://bit.ly/3txq6x6 Vieve shadow stick: https://bit.ly/2RIOpKk Damn Girl Mascara: https://bit.ly/3gjvjED Kosas cloud powder: https://bit.ly/3ghAODP Skin and threads singlet: https://bit.ly/3wW0Dzg 8D Dumpling House potato cakes: https://bit.ly/3mToX0d If you enjoyed this weeks episode, please leave us a review on Apple podcasts and follow us on the ‘gram over at @allbasescovered.pod!  Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/all-bases-covered.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Did we just find our new holy grail foundation?
EPISODE 113./This week’s episode feels like a blast from 2019’s past with the resurfacing of allegations against Beauty Influencer, James Charles for his predatory behaviour against minors. In beauty news we touch on our opinions regarding these allegations, also where the heck Tati Westbook has been, and why some influencers just can’t be cancelled. Also in beauty news we discuss the impending launch of Hourglass Vanish Cream Blushes, Ardell Aqua lashes, The new oddly shaped Rare Beauty discovery eyeshadow palette and the hotly discussed KVD Apple Foundation. Also what has MAC Cosmetics done with Face and Body by reformulating it into their new studio Radiance foundation! This week, Lisa and Alex trialled the Georgio Armani Neo Nude Natural Radiance Foundation. No spoilers but we picked this up a few weeks ago at the Sephora Sale and it’s safe to say it’s made it way into our hearts very quickly. Finishing up this week’s episode with an ‘I can’t believe you didn’t know that’ our beauty faves, non beauty faves and snacks. Products mentioned: Hourglass vanish cream blushes: https://bit.ly/3mzqisWArdell Aqua Lashes: https://bit.ly/3a16RnK Rare beauty eyeshadow palette: https://bit.ly/3uFsLET Mac Studio Radiance Foundation: https://bit.ly/3dTQj1X Allana Davison MAC Collab: https://bit.ly/3uMxJQt KVD Good Apple Foundation Balm: https://bit.ly/2PU6Bjp Dezi Skin Vitamin C: https://bit.ly/2Rrkpm7 Georgio Armani Neo Nude Foundation: https://bit.ly/3fXeMWY The Beauty Chef Gift Set with Dinosaur Designs: https://bit.ly/3g1Brl8 Le Labo hand cream Basil: If you enjoyed this week's episode, please jump over to our Instagram page @allbasescoverd.pod and chuck us a follow! May your tomatoes be whole and your Vit C be hammy
EPISODE 112./Happy Easter Monday! We hope your bellies are full of chocolate, and your tinned tomatoes only purchased whole. This week there’s LOTS of beauty news to get through, followed by a snack related ‘I can’t believe you didn’t know that’, our product trial, faves, and snacks. First up in beauty news, ultimate cool girl Jen Atkin has announced that her and her partner are having a baby via surrogacy. Secondly, Jae Haircare and Mecca’s new Pout Pop sheer line have launched at Mecca this week. In addition, Mecca have been trialling TerraCycle recycling services in-store and have announced that this service will be available in all stores by the end of April. Moving on to Sephora Australia news, Milk Cosmetics has finally dropped, and we’ve decided that we don’t want to try the Fenty Beauty Eaze Drops already. Lisa also has more Shaanxo conspiracy theories to share with you all and Desi Perkins has very swiftly dropped a new skincare line under her existing brand Dezi. This week we trialled the Mecca Cosmetica Vitamin C serum that boasts 15% L-Ascorbic Acid for the low low price of only $55. Whilst it’s a little too early for us to discuss the long term impacts this product had on our skin, we chatted about how it compares to our other Vit C faves, who it’s great for and what we think of the ingredients list. Products Mentioned: Jaye haircare: https://bit.ly/3rQkzzT Pout Pop Sheer Lipstick: https://bit.ly/31XH5wp TerraCycle: https://www.terracycle.com/en-AU Milk at Sephora: https://bit.ly/2PXiOn3 EazeDrops Fenty: https://bit.ly/31K6AB4 Mirror Water: https://mirrorwater.earth/ Dezi Skincare: https://bit.ly/3uliKMZ Lancome Lara: https://bit.ly/3rR8LNI Dr Dennis Spectralite Pewter: https://bit.ly/3rNesfL Mecca Cosmetica Vitamin C serum: https://bit.ly/3fjuXxkColourpop eyeshadows: https://bit.ly/2R0zydL Kevin Murphy Doo Over finishing hairspray: https://bit.ly/3cNy0fN  Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/all-bases-covered.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

EPISODE 111./We’re high from our shopping spree and keen to tell the world what we spent all our cash on! Before recording this week, Lisa and Alex hit Chadstone Shopping Centre to take advantage of the Sephora VIB Sale and then of course popped into Mecca to take a sniff of some of their newest fragrances. This week in beauty news, Colourpop is launching a range with Lizzie McGuire, Vieve is dropping some GAWJUZ cream neutral eyeshadow sticks and Fenty has JUST Dropped their Eaze Tint face tint. Also this week, Adore Beauty has started the Global Shades campaign, leading the charge in pressuring the Australian Beauty industry to shop inclusive shade ranges. This week our beauty trial is MCO Ambassador Celeste Barbers ‘top pick!’ - the MCO Xtend Lash Mascara. This is a ‘drugstore’ mascara retailing at around $25 and is available at Woolworths in Australia. It’s a bristly brush with a tubing formula so already ticking a few boxes before we trialled it, but you’ll have to listen to see what we think. Of course, rounding off the ep with some details beauty faves, non beauty faves and snacks! Shiny like a bowling ball
It’s been a chonker of a week for Lisa and Alex, between an anniversary trip away, simultaneously, momentarily despising our partners and Lisa looking the most beautiful she’s ever looked in her life (so far cause wedding hasn’t happened yet), we have a little to bring you up to speed on! First up in beauty news this week, Rihanna has trademarked the name Fenty Hair to obviously bring hair care to her empire. It got us thinking, what other beauty brands out there (who aren’t retailers) are currently tackling ALL of the beauty realm? Don’t stop her now, she’s still got the fragrance category to cover and where do you think she’ll go next with this? Oddly, Ren Skincare found themselves in hot water this week after bringing out a new product with the name ‘British Summer Time’. Props to Ren for handling this gracefully and also, how fkn weird that anyone would trademark that in the first place?! We discuss… In a twist of fate and a drunk turn of events, we ended up trialling TWO Goop Beauty products this week - the Goop Microdermabrasion scrub and the Goop Glycolic Peel Pads. We haven’t heard a whole lot about these products other than that they’re uber expensive and as VERY big acid lovers, we have developed a lot of opinions about how efficacious these were for us! Also this week, we wanted to let you know that we can’t believe you didn’t know that you shouldn’t put foundation under your eyes. Guilty? Let makeup artist Lisa tell you why you’re wrong. Things Mentioned: Fenty Hair: https://bit.ly/38Yc9Qy Emma Lewisham Circular Beauty: http://bit.ly/30XoU9h Goop Microdermabrasion: https://bit.ly/3tEMF2w Goop Glycolic peel pad: https://bit.ly/312NmGm Biologique research P50: https://bit.ly/3tEMF2w Models Prefer Nude Eyeliner: https://bit.ly/3c1X2al Byredo Candels: http://bit.ly/3vEfjTf If you loved what you listened to this week, please please subscribe and review us on your podcast provider, and come and join our community on Instagram @allbasescovered.pod Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/all-bases-covered.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

We found a Glossier dupe and it's from the drugstore
EPISODE 109./Hello pod fam! Happy new week and another new podcast episode. Lots of beauty news to cover from the last week, but firstly, we’ve gotta talk about Lisa’s Youfoodz hunger strike cause it’s the cause of her crazies in this episode. Kicking off news with another beauty Youtuber pregnancy announcement. Congratulations to Zoella on the announcement of her tiny baby prodigy and a big HA HA to everyone who said that her and Alfie no longer loved each other. Next up, Jaclyn Hill is doing the unthinkable, relaunching a lipstick line for Jaclyn cosmetics, KVD Vegan Beauty has rebranded AGAIN and Chloe Morello … or Face Halo have released some seriously questionable and outrageously expensive merch. This weeks product trial is nothing short of a miracle. A legitimate Glossier dupe sourced directly from the drugstore. We trialled the Rimmel Wonder Cloud Liquid Eyeshadow (and primer!). Not only is it a fantastic dupe for Glossier Skywash, it’s also a fairly decent eyeshadow primer too. What a win-win! Great work Rimmel. Finally, you spoke and we listened, the secret skincare sound is no more. You hated the segment and now it’s gone forever, but if you’re wondering what it was… Congratulations if you guessed Sunday Riley Good Genes. Products Mentioned: Jaclyn Hill Lipsticks: http://bit.ly/2OMsmkq KVD Vegan Beauty: http://bit.ly/2PWaHqV Face Halo Merch: http://bit.ly/3ey5wb7 Rimmel Wonder Cloud Liquid Eyeshadow: https://bit.ly/3rG3YQ1 Glossier Skywash: http://bit.ly/38CkEQK Azclear Azaleic Acid: http://bit.ly/38aPwow Briogeo Dry Shampoo: https://bit.ly/3vn0e8f   Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/all-bases-covered.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Get the grapes in your gob
EPISODE 108./Hello! Happy Public Holiday Monday to everyone! We hope that you’re out enjoying a long walk on the beach, or with your dog whilst listening to us today. Please give your pooch a pat for us. In beauty news this week, Ultra Violette has landed on British and EU soil, officially launching in Space NK! In Youtuber chat, Estee Lalonde is celebrating her 10 year anniversary on YouTube and has launched a ‘self care and self reflection’ brand (not sure what else to call it at this stage) called Mirror Water. Shaaanxo has dropped her wedding video that had Lisa in a blubbering mess, and Raw Beauty Kristi has brought us very behind the scenes with her just released birth story video. In the most exciting beauty news of all. Lisa has FINALLY possibly, very likely stopped the search for a PERFECT, Functioning, eyeshadow primer! STOPPPP THE PRESSSS you’ll have to listen in to work out what it is!! Truly, alex was shocked. We dive right into some tea, sparked by a recent video where Allana Davison stated that she felt that Urban Decay has gone down hill in recent years… and it got us talking about which brands we think have also lost their shine. Lisa also discusses her experience with her Liberty Belle Derma Sweep facial and we have a little pow-wow about our collective experience now that we’ve both been. This week we trialled the Vieve Sunset Blush in the shade Pesca. Introducing a NEW SEGMENT … secret sound…it’s a rather unique segment that is probably only suitable to beauty devotees and ASMR enjoyers. Each week we’re going to tinkle some skincare noises and you’ll have to guess which product we’re playing with. All will be revealed next week as to what sounds #1 is.  Things Mentioned: Ultra Violet in Cult Beauty: http://bit.ly/3eqGXwT Shaanxo wedding video: https://bit.ly/3sT63Z1 Raw Beauty Kristi birth vlog: https://bit.ly/38bbMS4 Danessa Myricks Colour Fix: http://bit.ly/3uWcCfb Vieve Sunset blush in Pesca:http://bit.ly/30jHYyc Laura Mercier Ginger blush: http://bit.ly/2RVJ7Js Hourglass Dim Infusiion Blush: http://bit.ly/36SioCq Eve Lom rescue Mask: https://bit.ly/2MRQVfh My Kit Co Brush Buddy: http://bit.ly/30fMBJV  Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/all-bases-covered.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Cult Beauty beauty bag of beauty goods
Episode 107./Kicking off this week’s episode with the good stuff. A recap of Alex’s Liberty Belle facial! Plus also an introduction to Lisa’s newest foster, Charles. In beauty news this week, Katie Jane Hughes has launched a beauuuutiful brush collaboration with Spectrum, Deciem have become a billion dollar company, and BECCA has left the building! It’s clearly the end of an era if Becca - the Becca of champagne pop, of the under eye corrector .. is no longer financially viable. Time to stock up on your holy grails everyone. We tip out and go through the entire contents of our very fabulous deluxe sized Cult Beauty bag bonus and one of the products that came out of Alex’s Cult Beauty Haul - the Charlotte Tilbury Hyaluronic Happykiss lipstick. Our product trial this week was ffiiiinnanalllyyy Auric Beauty. We discuss both the Glow Lust luminizer and the Smoke Reflect shadows and give you a full run-down of our thoughts. Finishing things off with our regular, beauty faves, snacks and many food-related non beauty faves too. EPISODE 106./What a wild last week we had! Whilst Alex suffered through Melbourne’s snap lockdown, Lisa was living her best life up in QLD. This week in beauty news, we’re giddy with excitement that Milk Makeup is coming to AUSTRAAAALIAAA. Finally. Known best for their kush mascara, cream bronzer and cool-girl attitude. Lisa got deeeeep into the Lydia Elise Millen hair saga and brings us all up to speed. You’ve got to hear it to believe it. Also Shaaanxo got married! We received a Listener Question in our IG DM’s this week from Sarah who wants to know how you can tell when a product has started to go off, and when you should consider decluttering old stored makeup and skincare. A great question, thank you Sarah! We’re going to go through just that for you. It’s a battle of the brow products for our product trials this week. After the Mecca Brow Soap last week, we’re excited to try two other super-hold gel options - one drugstore and one luxury. Lots of opinions here as always so you better listen in to see what we think. It’s becoming a trend but our snacks are meals and beverages and beauty faves are very un-sexy so pls enjoy when you get to that!Things Mentioned: Milk Makeup comes to Aus: http://bit.ly/3qJrTxE Lydia Millen drama: https://www.instagram.com/p/CLXjpA5HZ6g/ Refy Brow Gel: https://bit.ly/2OAXmDY Rimmel Wonder last: http://bit.ly/3bnxJ1b SebizoleZinc soap: https://amzn.to/2ZE9dTK 5pm Hard Seltzer: http://bit.ly/3aCVOli  Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/all-bases-covered.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
