Brad Krevor will be joined by Joel Grube, PhD of the Prevention Research Center/PIRE to examine new approaches for reducing underage and binge drinking. Listeners will learn how these approaches are being applied in a new national initiative to promote alcohol responsibility in college / university communities from guests Shannon Adams of RRForum, Mike Curme of Miami University and Chuck Lester of Oklahoma State University.

Attorney Fred Tromberg will join Dr. Brad Krevor and Mark Willingham for a discussion of the nature of civil litigation, the concept of restorative justice for victims of alcohol-related harms, and the use of the civil justice system as a deterrence for improper alcohol service. Listeners may find it interesting to understand how the civil justice system differs from the criminal justice system and understand what recourse may be available to them if they or a loved one have been harmed through negligent or purposeful over-service or alcohol service to a person under 21.

Dr. Brad Krevor is joined by co-host Dr. William DeJong of the Boston University School of Public Health to discuss programs and policies that can successfully reduce alcohol problems on America's college campuses with Dr. Ralph Hingson, Director of Epidemiology and Prevention Research for the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. Dr. Hingson will describe the latest research on effective alcohol screening and intervention programs, online alcohol courses, and public health approaches that focus on changing the campus and community environment in which students make decisions about whether and how much to drink.

Dr. Brad Krevor and co-host Scott Wexler will examine alcohol beverage industry responsibility and programming from initiation to the current day. They will review some of the key initiatives over the years and look forward to future programming activity with guests Diane Wagner, Alcohol Responsibility Manager at MillerCoors; Rob Frederick, Vice President of Corporate Responsibility at Brown-Forman; Jane Springer, Executive Director of the Maryland State Licensed Beverage Association and Chuck Ferrar, Owner of Bay Ridge Wine & Spirits.

Host Brad Krevor and co-host Charles Curie will be joined by Dr. Hal Urschel, author and Addictions Psychiatrist to discuss his book Healing the Addicted Brain. They will be considering the latest science regarding the impact alcohol overuse has on the brain and the latest effective medical treatments for alcohol dependence.

Dr. Brad Krevor and co-host Kathie Durbin of the Montgomery County Department of Liquor Control, explore the historical perspective of alcohol regulations and effects on the community with guests Pam Erickson, CEO of Public Action Management and Neal Insley, Senior Vice President and General Counsel for the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association (NABCA). They will also explore the relevance of alcohol regulations today.

Dr. Brad Krevor is joined by co-host Dr. William DeJong of the Boston University School of Public Health to review the latest data on college student drinking and its negative consequences. Dr. Scott Swartzwelder, Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University, joins the discussion to talk about the latest research on the impact of alcohol on learning and brain development in adolescents and young adults.

Dr. Brad Krevor and Co-host Scott Wexler will discuss with their guests the challenges faced by small package stores, restaurants and taverns including “big box” liquor stores vs. “small box” stores; local restaurants & taverns struggling to compete with national chains; and a growing web of local, state and federal laws, rules and regulations adding to the cost of doing business.

Dr. Brad Krevor and Co-host Charles Curie will be interviewing Dr. Monica Gourovitch. Dr. Gourovitch is a research scientist with extensive senior policy and corporate scientific affairs leadership experience regarding the impact beverage alcohol has on both the health of the individual and the health and safety of the community. We will explore what the latest research is telling us about the use of beverage alcohol and the impact it has on one’s health. Topics will include: review of the established federal government dietary guidelines regarding alcohol use, the health dangers of alcohol misuse and overuse, any health benefits of alcohol use, the definitions of moderate, binge and heavy drinking, consideration of public policies and individual efforts that support responsible alcohol consumption, and how we as a nation and other nations are dealing with the issues of health and alcohol.

Dr. Brad Krevor with Co-Hosts Kathie Durbin of Montgomery County Liquor Control, Maj. Mark Willingham of Alcohol Solutions and their guests will discuss the Montgomery County Over-Service project in partnership with Responsible Retailing Forum, and Drunk Driving Prevention through enforcement and partnership, as well as the use of the Civil Justice System (Dram Shop laws) to prevent Drunk Driving and to provide restorative justice for alcohol related harms.

Dr. Brad Krevor and Co-Host Scott Wexler, the Executive Director of the Empire State Restaurant and Tavern Association will explore with their guests the impacts to the beverage alcohol industry of the continued changes brought about by globalization, consolidation and the growth of new products and product categories. In particular, they will discuss the effects on consumer demand and use, marketing & advertising, and responsibility programming.

The Host and Co-host will be interviewing Ralph Blackman, CEO of the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility. We will explore with our guest the areas of preventing underage drinking, binge drinking and alcohol overuse and misuse. Programs and approaches that have proven effective in bringing rates of underage drinking down over the past several years will be highlighted. Particular attention will be given to the critical role parents play in preventing their children and teens from consuming alcohol. Tips for parents on how to talk to their children about alcohol will be shared. The need for ongoing, comprehensive approaches including school based programs, community based youth organizations, faith based groups and use of social media in order to implement successful prevention efforts will be reviewed.

Alcohol contributes to America socially, economically and culturally. But alcohol also impacts our health, safety and quality of life. Our debut will introduce the themes, and the co-hosts, who will explore how alcohol is changing America, and how American culture is changing our use and our attitudes about alcohol.
