Episode 2: The American Dream is not for Americans
In Episode 2, immigrants from Nigeria, Kenya, Liberia and an American discuss what the 'American Dream' means to each of them...the similarities are undeniable! We also discuss socio-economicthe Chinese impact on the mythical 'American Dream.' It's increasingly difficult for Americans to realize the 'American Dream' given all of the comfort and 'commodities' they grow up with and grow accustomed to...Even poverty in the United States cannot begin to compare to poverty in 3rd world countries; the poor in the US still have electricity, public transportation, financial aid, food stamps, free water, internet and so many things available to them that only the rich in poor countries can possibly comprehend... We immigrants that grew up in poor countries are blown away by the opportunities here in America...If you work hard, chances are that you will succeed and make a good living for yourself. And to us, that opportunity, that promise that if you work hard, you can succeed and positively impact your families back in your home countries, is THE AMERICAN DREAM! So in short, the 'American Dream' has never really been for Americans (socioeconomic status plays a much bigger role to the 'American Dream' myth to Americans...the less you have, the less you tend to believe in the 'American Dream'!)

Episode 1: Interracial Dating from the African Perspective
In Episode 1 of our Relationship Series, we "humoristically" explore interracial dating from an African perspective! We discuss taboos, preferences and requirements, racial mixtures, do's & don'ts and explore some of the following questions: Do we generalize too much? Are white girls truly freakier? Easier? Why do African women play 'Hard to Get'? Why don't Africans show more emotion in relationships? Why are Black women loyal to their race but not black men when it comes to dating? How come African men don't take 'No' for an answer? Why are Caucasian women preferential to brown women? On a more serious note, interracial dating or mingling was once illegal in the United States. Although multiracial families and relationships are growing rapidly in the U.S., there's still a lingering climate of racism, ridicule and disbelief. Strangers still ask rude questions about family members or simply stare in disbelief that people with different skin colors and other physical characteristics could be related.
