He told me about how he got into rapping, and how his cousin, very well-known local musician gone worldwide, 1200, trained him to be a one-take wonder and profoundly creative artist. In this episode I got to sit down with one of my favorite MCs in Louisville's scene, best voice in HipHop, RMLLW2LLZ (Romell with 2 L's). With the production of HipHop artist Yons, he released a project late last year called Concerto No.9 Movement II, which became (only slightly) arguably the best album to be released in our region in 2017. It's smooth, yet gritty, vulnerable, yet unapologetically stern. The level of musicianship and lyricism on the album made for really great conversation topics, and I honestly don't think in the almost 2 hours we spent chatting did we stray from the topic of music and this album.
