Reaching Fulfillment Without a Substance w/ Jacqueline Mauer
Ok guys.. this is special. In today's episode, I had the pleasure of sitting down with a local to our Roaring Fork Valley, Jacqueline Mauer.  Jacqueline is in recovery and came on the show to talk about her personal journey with addiction. Because of her bravery and willingness to be vulnerable, we were able to break down the roots of her addiction starting with her childhood. We talk about how her addiction has affected her mentality, relationships with others and her relationship with herself and her emotions. She also gives us her perspective on what it's like to feel as the world is looking down on you rather than lift you up, ways to help addicts without enabling them & the habits she has taken on in her present life to stay sober. This is a truly beautiful episode because it reflects the exact message I strive to spread on this podcast. There is a story behind every person, and it's an honor to be able to listen to someone speak about their hardship & journey to healing with the intention of inspiring others. I hope you guys enjoy this episode! **TRIGGER WARNING & DISCLAIMER** This episode does talk about domestic violence & drug use. Let's Talk About: Social Media
It feels good to be back! Today I sat down for our first episode of Season TWO! We talk about my recent break from social media & what feelings made me take that break, our new show dynamic (bi-weekly content, Monday uploads & more solo episodes) and we also get into all things social media, starting with how young I was when first signing up for Myspace and ending up at being a woman in my 20's with no idea of exactly who I am! Sounds deep, right? But it was fun. Thanks for listening and coming back to hangout after my break! Love ya. And you're never alone, ok? Talk to you the week..after next.. sounds weird. Favorite Interview Moments of 2020
Hello A Woman's Why Family, welcome back to the pod. In today's episode, I did something pretty fun and special... I put together all of my favorite moments from interviews in 2020 and reflected on each one while recording. I loved doing this because it made me remember all of the good that can come from conversation and connecting with others. Imagine if we could record all of our favorite moments from conversations in a year and reflect on them together? Even though they're not recorded, remember to be grateful for every human you come across and every story you hear.. it is the small things in life that truly make us happy, and connection with others is one of them. I have been so blessed to have this podcast, not only because everyone that has come on and shared their story but also because of all of you that are willing to listen and learn. Thank you all for an amazing 2020, first year of the pod - officially in the books! And I couldn't have done it without you guys! Wishing you all more healing & happiness in 2021.Episodes Mentioned + The Guest's IG:Ep 2 ft Savanna Fender - @savannafenderphotography Ep 3 ft Annabel Chaparro - @wloveannabelEp 6 ft Reece Taylor - @reecetaylorr_Ep 8 ft Goretty Gonzalez - @goretty_143Ep 9 ft Ashley Mills - @holdingthehopeEp 10 ft Venezia Martinez - @veneziaxoEp 11 ft Mindy Lou Gonzales-Poulin - @dearmindylouEp 12 ft Faviola Bueso - @faviolabuesoEp 15 ft Emiko Jaffe - @phasesfitnessEp 16 ft Keisha Greaves - @girlschronically_rockEp 17 ft Bryn Bamber - @bryn_bamberEp 18 ft Shakoya Green - @sdg_coaching Our Social Media:Twitter: http://twitter.com/awomanswhypodIG: http://www.instagram.com/awomanswhypodcastGift Shop: http://www.awomanswhy.comFb Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/910599196095911

I'm Skipping The Goal Setting This Year
Welcome back to A Woman's Why! It is the last episode of the year, and we have five more episodes until we cap out the first season! Today I wanted to sit down with you and talk about the goal setting practice that I used for this year, and explain how I really didn't set any goals at all.. let me let you in on a secret, I think this is how I will treat every year moving forward. We get into the importance of focusing less on what others are doing on social media and tuning into YOUR intuition, how to stop comparing yourself to others, sticking to your goals & more. I hope that this episode encourages you to be more graceful with yourself and reminds you that you are not alone, the holidays can be hard for some & if they are for you, always remember that this is a community and I am here for you. I also talk a little bit about today's launch over on our website, so tune in until the end for more information on that. I will talk to you all next year! Thank you for all of the support you've given me in 2020, I can't wait to see what 2021 has in store for us. From Denial to Inspiring Thousands - Living w/ Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy - Keisha Greaves
For today's episode of the podcast, I was joined by CEO & Founder of Girls Chronically Rock and Non-profit org Trust Your Abilities. Her name is Keisha & she was diagnosed with Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy at the young age of 23, while attending grad school.. Keisha lived in denial toward her diagnosis for a long time before a friend suggested that she write a blog about her experience. Once Keisha began to write, it became more real for her that she really did have LGMD, but the positive response from her Facebook friends and Tumblr followers sparked a vision inside of her mind to start a clothing line empire that brings awareness to disabilities and chronic illnesses. Keisha now runs her fashion business full time, teaches students about adaptive wear twice a week at the University she graduated from and speaks on many different stages to inspire others. This woman had me ON FIRE! She was absolutely wonderful to talk to & made me feel at home with her personality. If you liked this episode, let us know by reviewing or rating our podcast! Breaking The Stigma Around Weight & Diet Culture - w/ NASM-CPT Emiko Jaffe
Boy do we have a treaaat for you listeners! In today's episode, I had the pleasure of chatting with Emiko Jaffe NASM-CPT, of Phases Fitness. Her approach to fitness may not be like anything you've heard of, but it's a breath of fresh air. Emiko became a certified trainer in 2012 after her interest to build her strength for competitive pole dancing, in the past 6 months, Emiko has been awakened to different social injustices (as most of us have, hopefully) and as a trainer was specifically inspired to dismantle the stigma around weight and diet culture. Her and I start at how she began her training journey & pivoted in the last 6 months, unpacking the impact of before and after photos on social media, what a first session with her looks like, how this route of training others has changed her own life, examining her values and aligning them with her training philosophy despite the potential loss of business doing so, and MORE! She was a true light to have on the podcast, and I learned so much from her. She does currently offer online training, you can visit her website linked below for more information! Enjoy the episode. I will talk to you guys next Friday!
