Episode 10 - The Unconstitutional Acts
Followup: We further discuss the atheist anti-discrimination bill as Jon discriminates all over Kelly. Jon goes over some information he has learned regarding the Going Clear HBO doc including a segue into Ben Stein’s doc Expelled. We cover the whitehouse.gov petition to remove tax-exempt status from the “Church” of Scientology. Segment One: We discuss the Falcon 9 crash and more importantly, the ISS’s new espresso machine. Kelly talks a bit about The Atheist App, a new social community for atheists on Android. Segment Two: A discussion about the attempt to make the bible the official state book of Tennessee ensues and evolves into a general discussion of theists constant attempts at obviously unconstitutional actions. Episode 009 - Scientology & RFRA
First Segment: We start off with some nostalgia for old anti-drug commercials. Kelly jumps the gun on legal marijuana in his state. We discuss Going Clear, the Scientology documentary from HBO that recently aired. The discussion goes on numerous tangents into Mormonism, various other religions, Deepak Chopra and self help gurus. Second Segment: We discuss RFRA and how it relates to equal protection laws under the Constitution and at the federal level. Kelly decides to stop his christmas gift exchange with Mike Pence over it. Final Segment: Equal protection for Atheists in Madison Wisconsin. We really aren’t sure how to feel about this. #LYT - Leaving You Thinking - Do you think atheists as a group need equal protection laws or does the law for religious protection already apply here?

Episode 008 - Why are we religious?
First Segment: Kelly and Jon fall on the sword in the show’s intro segment, acknowledging that a microphone mishap is their nemesis. We talk a bit about the split off to a second show, Geekularity. Kelly alternately compliments and complains about Squarespace a bit. We talk about what seems to be a deification of former U.S. Presidents. Second Segment: We discuss the possible reasons for theistic belief across the planet and throughout time. Is it an evolutionary trait and is it necessary any longer? Kelly compares belief to football..somehow. Final Segment: We deconstruct an argument for God by C.S. Lewis and some of the other difficulties that arise when dealing with apologist arguments. #LYT - Leaving You Thinking - We atheists, non believers, secular humanists etc. are becoming a more powerful group. I will be mentioning groups, petitions and charities that focus on the secular movement; such as LGBTQ rights, gender equality, separation of church and state, anti-war movements etc. What can we do with our growing influence as a group? What do you think we can accomplish?

Episode 007 - Geekcast - Obsession or Obsolescence
First segment: We make up sub numbers again, Kelly better defines his argument about religious insanity. We decide to give up on The Facebooks and The Reddits for now. We make an announcement about the future of the show(s). Kelly promises Stitcher again..no really for real this time. Jon and Kelly pay their respects to Terry Pratchett who passed from Alzheimer’s Disease last week. Second segment: We discuss various things from the Apple Keynote such as HBO Now, Apple doing something open source..yeah..really..open source, Macbook and how innovative and beautiful and adjectives it is, and Apple Watch which spawns a conversation about technology obsession and the ever increasing obsolescence of technology. Final segment: Happy Pi Day! We give our review of The Theory of Everything and Jon discusses what disability has meant to him. Kelly admits he wishes he had Jon’s hair. We talk about Avengers: Age of Ultron and Star Wars, because all podcasts are under contract to discuss them. #LYT - Leaving You Thinking: Does your obsession to have the coolest technological toys cause you to buy things without considering whether it can grow with you? People often blame the companies for pushing upgrade cycles, but what responsibility do we have in that cycle ourselves?

Episode 006 - Skepcast - The Psychology of Religious Belief
Jon and Kelly take a bit to talk about Leonard Nimoy and somehow end up doing awful George Takei impressions. Jon relates how Nimoy inspired him. Kelly admits to yet another man crush. Kelly compares current non religious growth to early Christian growth in the Roman Empire. Has the internet helped you in your journey away from religion; has it helped any of you move back toward it? We declare everyone wrong about God even if he/she/it/them existed. Jon’s stomach lets all of us know he hasn’t eaten in a while throughout the podcast. Jon converts Kelly live on the podcast...no...really...yeah...k...just kidding. Jon and Kelly discuss and debate the psychological benefits of believing in a God or joining a religion. We talk about how tough it can be to give up our personal sacred beliefs. We take a conversational off-ramp onto a discussion of NFL football. #LYT - Should belief without evidence be ridiculed? Should the believer be ridiculed as well?

Kelly explains how his greed is saving the world. A discussion on the importance of privacy ensues and Kelly professes his love for assless chaps; Jon is speechless. We ramble on about imaginary subscriber numbers and Jon bestows the title of Lord Skepticon on Kelly. We confess we are twitter noobs. We talk a bit about #25 Jerome Kersey and the early 90’s Blazers. We discuss the scientific method and how it disproves pseudoscience. Kelly admits he can’t prove God is a sham or for that matter, any other mythical creature. Jon proves he is resistant to peer pressure. We also make a tangential stop to discuss news media and the Brian Williams situation. We discuss the problem of evil and the problem of good. We probably talk about Apple and Android too much. Jon has screen size envy and Kelly gets patriotic about Android. Kelly declares his undying love for Elon Musk and CyanogenMod. Tron influences Jons early computerating. Kelly shares an unpopular opinion with someone internet famous. We talk about the space program, because space is awesome. Lagrange, just say it..it sounds sexy and you know it. We also discuss the suns issues with premature coronal mass ejection. We bond over Star Trek and mention a subject we never talk about because tangent. Jon confuses Kelly with words. A crappy sci fi movie trailer clip happens for some reason (it may become a segment if you like it). #LYT on Twitter “What makes a geek, a geek?”.
