A cruise through the English Channel in 1909 was memorialized in an unusual tongue-in-cheek ship's log. This document was tucked away for decades until being uncovered by Susan Gordon, Archivist at the Tennessee State Library and Archives. Among the museum's collections are objects such as: a 550 year old slipper woven out of plant fiber, the beaver skin top hat that Andrew Jackson wore for his inauguration, and the original neon sign for Ernest Tubb's Record Shop. The history of the Parthenon in Nashville is inseparable from the larger history of the city itself.
