Episode 48 - Truth or Dare
Happy October! We kick off the Halloween season with Blumhouse's Truth or Dare. We also talk a little about other horror movies we've seen to kick-off our 31 movies in October list, including Hereditary, Sequence Break, Hell Fest. Those last three weren't on our list, but we watched them anyway. We haven't followed this list very well. Two more episodes, and it will be our 50th episode! That's about 100 fewer episodes than we should have done by now, but 49 more than I ever expected to do. I think we'll plan something fun for Episode 50 right around Halloween. Stay spoopy!

Episode 47 - Whiplash
If I had J.K. Simmons throwing chairs at my head, maybe our podcasts would go up on time. We talk about the scariest and bloodiest Blumhouse movie..."Whiplash!" We also saw "The Nun" this weekend, which was also very scary.
20 minutes | Aug 5, 2018
Episode 46 - The Town That Dreaded Sundown
The Town That Dreaded Sundown might be my favorite movie we've watched for the podcast. In this episode we talk about the 2014 remake of the classic slasher, it's connections to American Horror Story and Archie Comics, and what exactly a slasher needs to do to get us invested.
20 minutes | Jul 22, 2018
Episode 45 - The Lords of Salem
We go way back into the Blumhouse catalog and watch The Lords of Salem. We also go way back in Ashlee's family history to talk about her family's legacy with the witch trials! A special thanks this episode to Eric Thirteen of the Double Feature podcast for his review of our show. Listen to his podcast at DoubleFeature.fm.
15 minutes | Jul 8, 2018
Episode 44 - Benji
Today we take little break from haunted houses and slashers and watch Benji (2018). It's absolutely adorable. When it comes to these family films from Blumhouse, this is the best. Ashlee certainly loved it more than The Tooth Fairy.

Episode 43 - Insidious: Chapter 2
Ashlee and David have finished the entire Insidious franchise with Insidious: Chapter 2. This movie is incredible, and at the time it released, it was one of the movies where we were starting to recognize the Blumhouse Productions logo in front of all these horror movies we loved. It feels good to have finally covered the entire franchise on the show because Insidious is a major factor in why we do the podcast. Don't forget to listen to the other episodes for the Insidious series, and reach out on Facebook and Twitter to let us know how our new recording setup sounds. I'm excited to take the show further.

Episode 42 - Insidious
The much belated Insidious episode! Belated because it's weeks after our last episode, belated because we recorded this weeks ago, and belated because I've wanted to talk about this movie since we started the show. Where Ashlee loves Blumhouse because of Paranomal Activity, I love the studio because of the Insidious franchise. We also have a sponsor this week. I'm proud to talk about Multiplex 10. I'm a big fan, and the creator, Gordon, is my go to movie buddy for the movies Ashlee won't go to. Multiplex 10 is an animated short and an ongoing series about a b-movie fan and a film snob who work together at a movie theater, so I highly recommend, listeners! And lastly, the show got pushed back because we lost my grandfather. We were close, so it was devastating. My grandfather was always interested in what I was up to, so explaining to him what a podcast is and that Ashlee and I were making a radio show in our living room was fun. I never played the show for him, but he though it was cool.

Episode 41 - Insidious The Last Key
Busy life update in our latest episode! We celebrate 15 years together, and talk about watching our first date movie -- Darkness Falls. David prepares for his 32nd birthday, and he learns the Muppets took some poetic license with A Muppet Christmas Carol. We got our first Apple Podcasts reviews, and Ashlee got her cake! This is also our final episode before our new podcast equipment arrives, so I hope we see even more positive reviews when we sound better. This episode, we discuss the latest film in the Insidious franchise, Insidious: The Last Key, and we do a lot of speculating on the future of the franchise. Reach out to us on Twitter and Facebook and let us know where you think Elise and her boys are going next. Finally, if you missed David's blog post last week, be sure to read it to find out just why he loves the Insidious films so much.

Episode 40 - Insidious: Chapter 3
If you podcast with one of the dead, all of them can hear you... It's finally time to talk about Insidious! This is my favorite Blumhouse franchise, and we'll discuss the entire series in the next four episodes. We begin with Insidious: Chapter 3, and we'll watch the movies chronologically. For those keeping score at home, that's Insidious: Chapter 3, Insidious: The Last Key, Insidious, and finally, Insidious: Chapter 2. Get ready to enter the Further as we talk about demons, spectral sightings, and our number one bae Lin Shaye!

Episode 39 - Happy Death Day
Happy Halloween! I'm getting this episode in just under the wire. I don't like to make excuses, but between school, work, and an internship, I can honestly say that the podcast's priority gets buried. But Ash and I still make time for movies, and we saw Happy Death Day on Friday the 13th. What an amazing movie. It's so much fun, and I think it's fantastic that an original movie can do so well critically and financially.

Episode 38 - Martyrs
Controversial opinions on today's episode! Ashlee really enjoyed the maligned remake of Martyrs, and we share our less enthusiastic thoughts on the big horror movie in theaters now - IT. Halloween season is upon us, which is always our favorite month for the podcast! Our Blumhouse picks for this month: Oculus, Insidious, and Insidious Chapter 2. We're also going to rewatch Paranormal Activity 3, so be sure to check out our Paranormal Activity Super Show episode (back when I had no idea what I was doing!). Have a safe and spoopy Halloween season! Let us know on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram what Blumhouse movies you watch for your Halloween viewing.

Episode 37 - Jessabelle
Wheelchairs! Bathtub Ghosts! Tarot cards! Voodoo! Reno 911! We're back, talking about 2014's Jessabelle. Ashlee and I also settled on Wednesdays as our official recording day, which is going to make it a lot easier to fit the show into the rest of our schedules. Next week's movie is Martyrs (2015). Also - we lost a friend of the show - Dustin Pace, aka duddyinmotion. He was a sweet guy and a wonderful artist who was beloved in the horror community. Please consider contributing to the memorial fund to help his wife Tiffany: gofundme.com/dustin-pace-memorial-fund

Episode 36 - The Belko Experiment
Ashlee finally got to see The Belko Experiment on VOD, while I had seen this in theaters weeks ago after getting laid off. I've been excited to talk about this very cathartic movie! Podcaster pro tip: Don't record when everyone just wants to go to bed. But it still turned out to be a fun episode! Please review, subscribe, follow, and anything else you can do to help out the show. Thanks :)

Episode 35 - The Resurrection of Gavin Stone
Ashlee misses when this podcast was about horror movies. Gavin Stone is up there with the The Tooth Fairy for her, but I kinda liked this one. Either way, we agree that Shawn Michaels is TOOOOOO SWEET. (We talk lots of wrestling this episode. Sorry, not sorry.)

Episode 34 - The Boy Next Door
We're back with one of the worst movies we've watched for this podcast. The trailers we watched during American Idol looked awesome, but now that we've finally watched The Boy Next Door...yeesh. Note: I mistake The Odyssey for The Iliad. My bad. We watched this movie weeks before recording. But my comments still stand. I say the more grievous error is this movie mistaken The Iliad for something that can be bought in a bargain bin as a first edition for $1. The best thing that came out of watching this movie was falling down a rabbit hole of suggested YouTube videos where we learn that people redo trailers by mixing the trailer audio with Disney and Vampire Diaries character footage. Also! Please follow us on our new Instagram (ablumhousedivided) and Twitter (blumhousedvded) accounts. We're very excited we finally got these off the ground.

We're back! Let's officially call this Season 3 of A Blumhouse Divided. This week, we talk about the superhero crime drama SLEIGHT.

Episode 31 - Split
We're releasing this episode while snow is on the ground in late March, but we talk about how nice it is in February. So...we've sat on this one for a while. Ashlee and David talk about being respectful and pronouncing M. Night Shyamalan's name properly, the movie's connection to Shyamalan's other work, and how David relates to the mental health issues presented in Split. This episode gets a little personal, but that's the point of a podcast hosted by a married couple, right?
