Over the weekend, Britney Spears answered three burning questions from her 29 million followers. She assured the #FreeBritney crowd, via Instagram, that she’s (quote) “totally fine. I’m extremely happy, I have a beautiful home, beautiful children. I’m taking a break right now because … um … I’m enjoying myself.” Britney posted the red refrigerator on a lark. She thought it looked cool because (quote) “It was vintage. It was red and just really cool.” Finally, Britney admitted to getting the spins while twirling in her videos. She said, as a trained professional dancer, she keeps a focal point on the camera, otherwise “I get extremely dizzy.” (Billboard) Hey, creeps – stopping breaking in to Taylor Swift’s homes! Yet again, another person was caught trespassing on the singer’s property. Police were called to Taylor Swift’s Tribeca pad in New York City around 11pm Saturday night. The Happy Headline of the Day – Friday, April 16
Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb is a fan favorite for all his work on the football field. And now, he’s doing something special off the field — launching his very own breakfast cereal called Chubb Crunch, which will be used to raise money for charity. Nick promises that Chubb Crunch will be delicious, as it’s compared to Cinnamon Toast Crunch. And, proceeds from sales of the cereal are going to the non-profit group First Candle, which is focused on making progress on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and helping families who have been affected by it. Nick says it’s always been a dream to have his own cereal — and is especially thankful that his efforts will result in helping out a good cause. (Browns Nation)

Details have gelled for Saturday’s funeral service for Prince Philip. Queen Elizabeth made “tough decisions” to ease tensions and accommodate the only 30 family members allowed at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. Buckingham Palace said the Royals “will not be drawn into perception of drama.” However, brothers Prince William and Prince Harry will not walk side-by-side in the funeral procession. A cousin will be the buffer between the boys, who have rarely spoken since Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey. Queen Elizabeth’s four children and spouses will be in attendance as well as their eight grandchildren and spouses. Coverage in North America begins Saturday at 10 a.m. (Vanity Fair) Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez decided a week ago to end their engagement. TMZ reports that she still possesses the $1.8 million engagement ring. A source very close to J-Lo told People magazine, (quote) “They spent time together in the Dominican Republic last week and decided that it’s best to go separate ways. The split is very amicable.” Between breaking up and the formal announcement, J-Lo took off her ring and flaunted her naked left-hand. A-Rod announced his partial ownership of NBA and WNBA teams in Minnesota — the Timberwolves and Lynx. Going it alone raised eyebrows because last year A-Rod with J-Lo attempted to purchase the New York Mets. (People) Oprah Winfrey can’t get up close and personal with fans just yet, but she’s not letting that get in the way of her next book tour, which will take the form of a virtual get-together. Oprah and co-author Bruce Perry will kick off a five-event “tour” on April 27th, the release date for What Happened to You?: Conversations on Trauma, Resilience and Healing. She made the announcement on Instagram, saying, “We hope that through these pages, we help people hold more empathy for themselves and others as we learn to shift from asking ‘What’s wrong with you?’ to ‘What happened to you?'” They’ll be joined by a special guest at each event, including Gayle King, Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell, and Rob Lowe. When Kobe Bryant is inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame next month, Michael Jordan will honor the late player. The Hall of Fame stated Thursday, (quote) “Members of Class of 2020 were asked to select previous inductees to accompany and present them to their peers.” Kobe’s family chose Jordan, who also paid tribute at a public memorial one month after Kobe’s fatal helicopter crash. Jordan told the mourners with some levity, (quote) “It may be a surprise to people that Kobe and I were very close friends. He was like a little brother. I wanted to be the best big brother. To do that, you had to put up with the late-night calls or the dumb questions.” The Hall of Fame Ceremony is scheduled for May 15th in Norwich, Connecticut. (People)

Coffee Talk from Honor Credit Union – Friday, April 16
TODAY IS: Wear Your Pajamas to Work Day: Well, that shouldn’t be hard for a lot of us. If there’s anything the pandemic has taught us, it’s to appreciate the simple things in life … A new survey asked people to name their favorite simple pleasures. The number one thing? Listening to their favorite songs. Here are some other favorite simple pleasures, according to the survey: a nice dinner, watching a favorite movie, exercising, cooking a great meal, having a great meal cooked for you, going to the beach, finishing a good book, sleeping in, taking a long walk or hike. (SWNS) Speaking of listening to your favorite songs … An Australian study found that waking up to your favorite music helps you feel less groggy. It also makes you sharper first thing in the morning. Think of it as musical caffeine. Good news, Pinot lovers … Pinot Noir may be the healthiest wine to drink. That’s because it has higher levels of the antioxidant resveratrol than other types of wine. (Martha Stewart) Recently, researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, figured out that there were about 2.5 billion Tyrannosaurus rex dinosaurs roaming the planet. Now, they weren’t all running around at the same time. Instead, there were — supposedly — about 20,000 of them at any given time … over the course of a couple million years or so. If these researchers are right, the T-Rex hung around for 127,000 generations. The researchers figured all this out, despite the fact that only about 100 T-Rex fossils have actually been discovered around the world. (Mercury News) And, a burger chain in California is looking for people who love burgers and tattoos — so they can turn them into human billboards. Farmer Boys, which has 90 locations in California, Arizona, and Nevada, is celebrating its 40th anniversary by offering people free burgers for a year if they get the restaurant chain’s name and a burger tattooed on their body. They’re partnering with a tattoo shop in West Hollywood, which is offering three different two-by-two-inch designs.

Music News – Friday, April 16
It’s been 25 years since No Doubt released the worldwide smash “Don’t Speak,” but the song’s deep emotion still rings true for Gwen Stefani. Gwen tells Variety the song was inspired by two big losses — her brother Eric leaving the band and bassist Tony Kanal breaking up with her after years of dating. She says, “Tony was my first real boyfriend and I was tragically obsessed with him. When my brother quit the band and then Tony quit me…it was a really hard time. I lived at home until I was 26, I was quite sheltered and innocent, you know, I just was.” But as things changed in her professional life, Gwen’s personal life wasn’t as great as it seemed. “Once the song came out, it went from a nine-year hobby that was our passion while we went to college, to all of a sudden it’s like we do the ‘Just a Girl’ video, we go from that video set to the airport and go on tour and don’t come home for two and a half years. It was a huge thing to be there with your ex who you love still who doesn’t want to be with you.” Maroon 5’s Adam Levine tells Billboard magazine that he doesn’t know what genre the band fits into anymore. “The band’s sound has drifted all over the musical map, weaving through an array of musical genres. I don’t even know what the [heck] Maroon 5 are anymore. We occupy a weird space, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.” Stevie Nicks tells Rolling Stone magazine that she considers Harry Styles her son. “When Harry came into our lives, I said, ‘This is the son I never had.’ So I adopted him. I love Harry, and I’m so happy Harry made a rock-and-roll record — he could have made a pop record and that would have been the easy way for him.”

Chen hopes that this gesture inspires others to help out as well, suggesting that, “We should all help each other.” (Newark Post)

Music News – Thursday, April 15
Taylor Swift is famous for her gift-giving skills, which she showed off by sending a care package and personalized note to a fan who works as a nurse. Britta Thomasson got the surprise package a few days after a local Georgia newspaper profiled her and mentioned her love of Taylor’s music. She put up a Facebook post showing photos of the goodies that Tay sent along, as well as of the note that came along with the stuff. Tay’s note read, “Dear Britta, I wanted to write to you and personally thank you for serving on the front lines of this pandemic and for being brave enough to put yourself in danger to help others… I’ve sent you some cozy clothes for when you’re off duty I’ll be thinking about you, and forever grateful! Love, Taylor.” Maroon 5’s Adam Levine tells Vulture.com that he wishes there were more bands in music right now. “I feel like there aren’t any bands anymore, you know? There’s no bands anymore, and I feel like they’re a dying breed. I mean, there still are plenty of bands. And maybe they’re not in the limelight quite as much, or in the pop limelight, but I wish there could be more of those around.” NBC says Heart’s Ann Wilson is going to kick off this year’s NFL Draft on April 29th by performing the National Anthem.

When the pandemic began, sixth grader Keena Schroeder of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, rolled up her sleeves and learned how to bake cheesecakes. With a little practice, Keena became an excellent baker — and started a company called “Bug’s Bakery,” with the name inspired by her nickname, Bug. As she started selling cheesecakes, money rolled in. Keena and her dad brainstormed ways to use that money — and decided to donate some of it to charity. So now, $5 from the sale of each cheesecake goes to a program in her school district that helps kids in need afford school lunches. Keena recently presented a check for $1000 to the school board to help out. And, her work isn’t done. Keena says she’s going to continue to make and sell cheesecakes as long as people want to buy them. (WKOW-TV)

Angelina Jolie hasn’t said much about her roller-coaster relationship with Brad Pitt, but that may change — if she goes through with plans for a tell-all about her life. According to OK! magazine, she’s taken inspiration from Meghan Markle and feels compelled to tell her story after years of silence. A source says, “Angie applauds people who stand up for themselves, and she thought it was so brave of Meghan to go on air instead of suffering in silence. She feels like she’s been holding her tongue for years since her legal case is still looming. But it doesn’t make her any less determined to have her say at the right time.” So what should we expect? “Angie plans on going into detail about their roller-coaster romance and the hell Brad’s snooty Hollywood friends put her through. Angie feels emboldened and wants fans to hear her side of the story.” Prince Harry bought round-trip tickets for his grandfather’s funeral. Not shockingly, he will return to his pregnant wife, Meghan Markle. Her doctor declined to allow her to travel with Harry to London. Meghan’s mother is looking after her while Harry attends to unpleasant family matters. Harry will catch the first flight home as soon as the funeral service concludes, provided he tests negative for COVID. (New York Post) Jennifer Aniston isn’t ready for motherhood just yet — despite reports that she’s planning to adopt a child. TMZ got in touch with the actress’s people after hearing British tabloids say she had finalized plans to add a kid to her life. Shockingly, the stories were “false and never happened.” Several outlets shared the story that Jen had made the adoption announcement to her Friends co-stars while they were shooting the reunion, but her reps say “no way.” Kenan Thompson revealed that the Home Alone reboot is “very close” to being completed. Kenan told Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen, (quote) “It was a long shoot. It started in Canada. Then got shut down because of the pandemic. It’s been very splotchy. But, I think they’re getting very close to finishing it.” The plot revolves around a child, who steals a valuable heirloom in hopes of saving the family from financial ruin. The director of the 1990 original starring Macaulay Culkin said, (quote) “It’s a waste of time. What’s the point? You’re not going to create lightning in a bottle again. I’m a firm believer that you don’t remake films that have had the longevity of Home Alone.” (People)

Music News – Wednesday, April 14
Tuesday night, Taylor Swift appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. By the end of their eight-minute chat, fans were convinced she dropped several Easter egg hints that 1989 will be the next re-recorded album. First off, Taylor chose to be in her recording studio for the video conference interview. Just to make it clear where she spends her days. A few hardcore Swifties played with clues they detected to predict Taylor will release the 1989 album on Friday June 4 and a single on May 14. Though, more likely the date could be Thursday evening, May 13 – Stephen Colbert’s birthday. The most obvious hint had to be when Taylor told Stephen to “Shake It Off.” She also mentioned “New York,” which had people thinking it referred to the first track on the 1989 album, “Welcome to New York.” (Entertainment Weekly) Demi Lovato will return to TV starring in an NBC sitcom. “Hungry” is about of group of friends with food issues. The press release says, (quote) “They help each other look for love, success and the perfect thing in the fridge that’s going to make it all better.” Scooter Braun and his SB Projects colleagues will produce the single-camera sitcom. Demi earned an Executive Producer title. (Variety) Christina Aguilera did not feel “Beautiful” in her early days in the spotlight — because she thought she was too darn skinny. She tells Health magazine, “I think we all have our good days and our bad days in how we feel about ourselves. Entering this business, I hated being super skinny. Once I turned 21, I started filling out a little bit, and I was loving my new curves. I appreciated having a booty.” Now that she’s hit 40, X-Tina believes she’s really hit her stride. “As you age, you stop comparing yourself to other people and start appreciating your body and owning it. With age, you figure out that life is too short to waste time thinking about what other people think about you.”

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Jack Flaherty purchased thousands of books from a local bookstore — and donated those books to The Boys and Girls Club of Greater St. Louis. This was just the latest generous act to help out The Boys and Girls Club. He previously donated masks to keep kids and staff there safe from coronavirus and he also donated $5,000 to support health and fitness programs there. This time around, Jack chose to give the kids books because he was an avid reader growing up and wanted them to follow in his footsteps. He made sure to include some of his personal favorites and said he hopes the stories will inspire the next generation, regardless of the career paths they choose. (KTVI-TV)

CBS daytime show, The Talk, returned on Monday. This was the first show in one month. Production went on hiatus while CBS investigated Sharon Osbourne. They parted ways with Sharon getting a $10 million golden parachute. Sheryl Underwood addressed the elephant in the room, (quote) “We need to process the events, so we can get to the healing. By the end of the hour, we want everyone to feel ready to move forward.” Underwood confirmed Sharon’s account that her apologetic texts went unanswered. She told The Talk audience that she declined to respond because of the ongoing CBS investigation. Sheryl added, (quote) “If Sharon greeted me warmly, I would give her that in the same. I want people to understand when you’re friends, you stay friends.” Co-host Elaine Welteroth said, (quote) “There have been a lot of false narratives spun in the media that frame both Sheryl and myself as co-conspirators in attacking Sharon. That is absolutely categorically false and unfair.” During the discussion with a trauma specialist, Underwood confessed, (quote) “I feel like I’ve been in PTSD. I really wanted to get back to work with my friends and my colleagues and the crew.” (Entertainment Tonight) Harvey Weinstein doesn’t want to go to L.A. The disgraced movie producer wants to remain in a New York prison and is fighting extradition on “humanitarian grounds.” His lawyer Norman Effman says that he’s basically blind and has lost four teeth behind bars. He has medical procedures scheduled to address both issues. Effman says this is on top of previously documented cardiac issues, diabetes and back pain. A new hearing is set for later in the month. (TMZ) Last year’s edition of American Idol was really weird, thanks to the COVID pandemic — in fact, it was so weird that producers are bringing back the finalists for another shot this year. The 2020 edition was just about to kick off when California went into lockdown, and the top ten contestants were forced to compete remotely from their homes. A year later, the Idol folks have decided that wasn’t fair, so they’re bringing back ten of the top-20 for a do-over on a show that will air April 19th. Voting will go on for two weeks, since the Academy Awards will pre-empt the show on the 26th. Last year’s champion, Just Sam, was not asked back because she has already won the show. Two other finalists, Dillon James and Francisco Martin, snagged record deals, so they weren’t eligible to compete again. (Billboard)
