Episode #28 - Budapest leaves us Hungary for more!
Hello and welcome to episode 28 of the 5 Lights Formula One Podcast, with me your host Daniel Herrick, brining you all the latest news and opinions in the world of F1.This episode is entitled "Budapest leaves us Hungary for more" and it is a look back at the incredible Hungarian Grand Prix. What a race, it had it all and there is so much to get into! Crashes, overtakes and more penalties than a penalty shootout! So without any further adieu, it's lights out and away we go!But before we get off the start line, I have to introduce my co-host here on the show. He is my brother, my compadre and my F1 mad friend, he is never under investigation, it's Ben!Race ReviewWe didn't think we would see a repeat of Silverstone, but from the start, that's exactly what we got! Both Ferraris this time making great starts, jumping the Mercedes into the lead, with Vettel leading Raikkonen. There was contact throughout the field with Ricciardo getting airborne when coming together with Bottas. But it was Hamilton running wide into the chicane, dropping him down to tenth place, that opened the race wide open. Positions changed, cars collided and Maldonado collected penalties, until Nico Hulkenberg lost his front wing, prompting first the Virtual Safety Car and then a full Safety Car.On the restart, Rosberg passed Kimi, who later retired with an MGUK issue and behind them Ricciardo attempted to overtake Hamilton, causing the two to collide and resulting in a drive through penalty for Lewis. Ricciardo continued and a few laps later, completed a hat-trick of collisions, when he ran wide in turn one and when rejoining the track, clipped Rosberg's left rear tyre, giving the German a puncture. Through it all though, one man kept his cool. Sebastian Vettel kept his nose clean claiming his first victory in Budapest. Kvyat finished second, his first podium of his F1 career, and Ricciardo rounded off the top three after a very eventful afternoon for the honey badger.Race BreakdownDan and Ben break down the race lap-by-lapMurray Walker quote: "That's the Forti and it looks like it's Roberto Moreno's car, the Brazilian. I was going to say the elderly Brazilian. He's only 36 actually, but he's actually the oldest driver in the race at the present moment, although he's just retired from it."So that's it from episode #28 of the 5 Lights Podcast, if you want to get more from us, head over to our website, which is the hub for all things 5 Lights related, 5lightspodcast.com.
