13. BJ McKie - Assistant Coach (Wake Forest)

A high IQ, hard-nosed, grinding guard with a knack for putting the ball in the hole, BJ McKie was named "Mr. Basketball of SC" in 1995. From Jermel: "I can hear his voice right now from the 1999 Food Lion MVP Classic. I didn't start that game for whatever reason. By the time I got in the game, Mr. Basketball was already in a lather and his pot was boiling. I remember checking the game and making a B-line to the player I was guarding, BJ. I knew he smelled the energy. As the shot clock ran down, he called a 1-4. He dribbled left, crossed over, spun and before you know it, I was in the lane. He turned around, dropped a smooth hook and yelled 'YOU TOO LITTLE!'. To this day it gives me nightmares!" BJ had an amazing career in athletics and ministering through coaching. Coach McKie is currently the Assistant Coach at Wake Forest University. Tune in to hear about his playing career, recruiting athletes and the life of a collegiate coach.  Our 3RIPLE 3HREAT message is to bring quality information to STUDENT-ATHLETES, PARENTS of student athletes and THE COMMUNITY that supports them both.
