Dr. Agustin Diaz is part of the R&D Department at REM Surface Engineering, serving as the Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Manager overseeing Research Chemists and Additive Manufacturing Scientists. Over the last eight years, he has worked on the optimization of post-process surface finishing of metal additive manufactured (AM) components using REM’s chemically accelerated finishing technologies. Nima Shamsaei is currently the Philpott-WestPoint Stevens Distinguished Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Auburn University, where he is also the founding director of the National Center for Additive Manufacturing Excellence (NCAME), a NASA and NIST funded research center focused on advancing the additive manufacturing (AM) technology. NCAME is also one of the two U.S.-based founding partners of the ASTM International Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AM CoE). Eliana Fu is industry manager of aerospace and medical at the Trumpf Laser Technology Center. She was educated at Imperial College, University of London with a master’s degree and PhD in materials science. After working extensively in the traditional manufacturing world, with TWI then TIMET and SpaceX, she turned her attention to additive manufacturing at SpaceX and then with Relativity Space as senior engineer: additive technologies. Travis Mayberry is the Technical Area Lead for Additive Manufacturing at Raytheon Missiles and Defense. He has been with Raytheon for 13 years and recently graduated with his Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Methodist University through the Raytheon Advanced Studies Program while working part-time. He has a background in design, thermal system architecture, and metal additive manufacturing. He currently leads the Additive Manufacturing Internal Research and Development efforts for Raytheon Missiles and Defense, and is involved in a number of cross-Raytheon Technologies efforts in additive. After graduating from MIT in Aero/Astro Engineering, Mark joined Rolls Royce working on air breathing rocket engines, before moving to his father’s machine shop, Jet Blades. Mark worked his way from CAD/CAM programmer to Managing Director, making parts for Formula 1 teams and Rolls Royce jet engines. After emigrating to Canada, he provided hands-on coaching for companies introducing advanced manufacturing, as well as teaching Engineering at the University of New Brunswick. Mark joined Renishaw in 2013 to head their new Canadian additive manufacturing business and start up their first North American Solutions Centre. In 2020 Mark moved to the University of Waterloo’s Multi-Scale Additive Manufacturing lab to lead industry outreach and training in additive manufacturing. Jimmy Campbell is the CTO of Plastometrex, who provide novel mechanical testing solutions for metallic materials. Jimmy has a PhD and undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge. His PhD focussed on experimental and computational development for the PIP method, which extracts full stress-strain curves (including yield stress and UTS) from a simple indentation test. He has published more than 15 papers in scientific literature, including one identifying a fundamental flaw in an analytical calculation used extensively in the indentation community, is the co-inventor on 3 patents and co-author of a book titled 'Testing of the Plastic Deformation of Metals.
