Episode 5 – Black Lives Matter
DT, Patrick, and Lejon through introspection, speaks on Black Lives Matter. Not the organization just the mentality. Black lives should matter to black people. Unfortunately, it seems like it is not true, because of the killing and general disrespect black folks show each other. The guys understand that for longer than any of us have been around, black people have been persecuted and treaded badly. It is all trauma, so the sentiment that America has toward black folks reaches all Americans regardless of color. There will be little or no change if people are killing each other. It is not all black people killing black people, just like it isn’t all white people killing white people. The guys go through solutions to help all as they try in their own way to remedy the situation. Please enjoy episode 5 of 100Years podcast.

Episode 3 – Acclimation
Lejon, Dante, and Patrick talk about acclimation. The joys and pains of it. Acclimation is when you adjust to a new climate or situation. … The process of acclimation is all about the way that a person or other organism adapts to a new environment. The three all have stories of that process. The thought of leaving society in the 80’s and returning after 30 years is mind boggling. The inventions and phrases that have come and went, in fact just cell phones came a very long way. The conditions in prison does condition an inmates mind and break their soul. Reaching outside of prison for support and it not being there is another condition that can’t be remedied. Relying on your fellow inmates can also be treacherous at times. So, when these guys were released acclimation is key, as to not reoffend, not get on drugs, and try to be a useful part of society. Anything, is possible with support. Listening to them talk about the time inside and how they supported each other and others supported them acclimation back into society was easy compared to the alternative. All three have jobs and are working toward all the things we all want. Please enjoy Episode 3 of The 100Years Podcast.
