Finally, a book Brandon read when he was little! But how does it hold up to the nostalgia-tinted glasses? We have animals, aliens, and teenagers so there's bound to be action and plenty of drama, but is this one of the darkest kidlit books we've ever read? Plus: how the reprint turned out, what animals Molly and Brandon would turn into if they had to fight the Yeerk army, and just how much does nostalgia affect one's opinion of a book?Read more »

Brandon and Molly have a great on air chemistry! I have not read children's literature in years, but these reviews have sparked my interest to reread some of the books of my youth. The Hardy Boys series were the books that developed my love of reading in the fifth grade. Listening to this podcast transports me back in time.
Keep up the great work!

I felt compelled to write a review after the first four podcasts of Kid Lit Anonymous. I am new to podcast listening. I had no idea that these could be so entertaining and informative. Brandon and Molly are highly educated and well read commentators who are really enjoying what they are doing. The two paint vivid pictures and accurate depictions for the listener thus allowing a novice like me to really get in to these books. I know that it is routine to read first and then listen, however, personally I prefer to listen to their podcast before I read the books. This allows me to tab back mentally to the points that Brandon and Molly have made and to decide whether I agree( which I usually do!) or not. It is pretty obvious that the two of them have a very large volume of literature, movies and life experience to infuse into each podcast. It really adds a great deal to the listener when they intersperse these references. It is also obvious that both of them have been fans of kid lit for most of their lives. As a listener, I appreciate the humor and occasional friendly disagreement that a good podcast team needs in order to keep me interested. Brandon and Molly are truly a great team. They offer a balance of wit, knowledge and honest affinity for the books and listener. If you are an avid reader of kid lit or even just a passive part timer, this is a great way to enhance your reading experience.
I hope that you guys keep them coming! Spread the word!!
