Episode Info:

Decompressing on the release of shoulder cam footage of an officer beating down an innocent man back in August. No names included in podcast. All details blurred. I'm a bit overtaxed at the moment.

One story is the DA, Todd Williams, intends to fire whomever released the footage (due to policy) when they could be applauded, commended and honored as a community hero. Overshadowed by the fact that he and the Police Chief have been working hard since September (when the DA's office dropped all the charges Hickman had brought against Rush) to push a federal investigation. Even state interest has been tough to garner.

Mostly I should already be in Texas but I'm not. Asheville is a vortex, consistently proving difficult to escape. I have yet, in 20+ years departed town as initially planned. I do, however, believe in evolution. I know there is a better way.

With my gaze fixed on the homefront, I can only say that the lack of justice and equity in our community is unacceptable. With an election around the bend where his seat is being challenged by another local attorney, Ben Scales, I believe an open discussion on advanced equity is at hand with our DA. I also believe Todd Williams is a great guy and upstanding representative of our community.
