Voices of the North Sea

About This Show

Show Info:

The Embassy of the North Sea departs from the starting point that the sea owns itself. By carefully listening to the sea and life in it, the Embassy of the North Sea researches how non-humans - from phytoplankton to cod fish, to the North Sea itself - can become full-fledged members of society. In the podcast Voices of the North Sea radiomakers Jesper Buursink and Eli Guerrero embark on a journey along the eight countries of the North Sea. On their journey they search for stories of humans and non-humans that work and live on, around or with the sea. By collecting this rich palette of voices and soundscapes, the Embassy of the North Sea builds a network of representatives that will work towards emancipation of the sea and life in it. The first two episodes of Voices of the North Sea are in Dutch, from summer 2020 we will switch to English.
