Episode Info:

January is cervical health awareness month. Every year approximately 14 million women are diagnosed with HPV. For many, this comes along with an abnormal Pap Smear and concerns about pre-cancerous changes to the cervix. It’s a frightening experience. The treatments offered for cervical dysplasia are invasive and can put future fertility at risk. In this episode, Robin and her guests discuss how they addressed their abnormal Pap Smears. Courtney Miller took a natural approach to heal her cervix, while Kate Orson followed her doctor’s advice and had unexpected side effects which persist over 14 years later. Inspired by their experiences to educate other women about the risks and alternatives to standard treatments for the problems caused by HPV, each created their own Facebook group to provide a safe place to discuss HPV and heal from the stigma and shame associated with an HPV infection. Tune in to discover what doctors don’t tell you about HPV or the treatments used to address it.
