Episode Info:

It is an outrage that many schools all around our country are failing our students, and mostly for people of color! And this is unnecessary! This week's guest, Ms. Cecilia Iglesias, is on the Santa Ana City Council and is the director of the California Policy Center, and she is an enthusiast for Charter Schools and School Choice. Ask yourself, who is in a better position to decide how best to educate children, their parents or the government? Obviously the parents. So if we were to empower those parents to be able to choose where the government money would be spent, they would choose excellence -- and, with competition brought back into schools, they would receive it! So we must decide what the purpose is of our educational system: to educate our children, or to protect below-average teachers. (Guess which we are doing today!) Tune in and you will be both outraged by this situation and encouraged by the deeds of this highly motivated parent as she works for excellence -- for us all!
