OK with reservations
I've only listened to a couple of the earliest episodes, but I've got the flavor of the thing. I expect the host has a reasonable background on the Vikings, so let's assume he'll generally get things right. He does come across as a bit precious, but that may make him popular among some listeners - it's a personal thing. What bothered me was his reference, in his discussion of the pre-pre-Viking early agricultural neolithic era to 'Germans' to the south. Of course, there were no Germans at the time, and no German language. In fact, Indo-European had yet to develop at the time, so it's something like calling ancient Egyptians Muslims - terribly anachronisitc. And if he's this sloppy with language - Germans, rather than 'people from today's Germany,' I worry about how he'll handle other such issues.
