Episode Info:

Alex Ferrari exploded onto the indie film scene with his award winning short film BROKEN. The film went on to screen at over 200 international festivals and has been reviewed by over 250 news outlets world-wide including famed film critic Roger Ebert.

In addition to his work as a director Alex has worked in the film industry for over 20 years. He is the founder of Numb Robot – an award winning visual effects/post production boutique which specializes in editorial, color grading and visual effects. He has worked on over 450 feature films, shorts, television shows, commercial and music videos

Frustrated with seeing his fellow filmmakers struggle to make it in the film business, Alex created Indie Film Hustle, a website and podcast that educates filmmakers and artists on to survive and thrive in the film business. Within three months of its start date the show became the #1 filmmaking podcast on iTunes.

On top of all of that, Alex has recently completed his feature film debut, This is Meg. Alex wore many hats on this indie film including directing, producing, cinematographer, cameraman, editor, and colorist. This is Meg made a splash on the festival circuit and is now available on iTunes!

In this interview, we discuss:

  • The incredible 6-figure success of Alex’s first short film His struggle with being a teacher vs. being a filmmaker
