Thank you all for your patience while we revamped our podcast. We hope you enjoy the new format. The Universal Geek podcast is now once a month instead of once a week. This makes the 90 minute runtime a bit more easy to consume seeing as you have 4 weeks or so to listen to it all. And instead of discussing geek news, which honestly there are so many blogs doing such a good job of it we barely can scratch the surface, we are doing ‘deep dives’ on specific topics. Might be a little biased
I'll start out with, I'm a reluctant geek - I'm a nerd at my core. But, I love this podcast because - it doesn't matter if you are a geek, nerd, wiggle-worm or "normal" you will have if not one, several take-aways after listening to the geeky Trio of Bleu/Jeff/Sean. They provide insight into books, games, movies, tech news, current events and the conversational tone is digestible and understandable. Also the random nuggets of Beer Diary that are the side show from UG are pretty stellar!

Is Geek a noun and a verb? Or both?
Only slightly biased here as I know the Geek Peeps on the podcast, but UG holds a special place for me as it really did introduce to me the world of podcasts. So thank you. Now I have even more to add to my Geeky list of stuff to do! Seriously, however, I find the format to fit my own train of thought and thoroughly enjoy the topics covered as well as the various segues on the show. Keep it going, Sean.

Explore the Geek Cultural Universe... ALL OF IT
I don't always listen podcasts. But when I do? I listen to Universal Geek.
Thoughtful, thoroughly broad, far ranging, meanders in discussion because... Well, what happens when you set a few geeks down together? Topics wander into other topics in interesting and often unpredictable ways as individual geeks bring in their own experience and revelations to the table. The core hosts, Sean, Bleu, and Jeff are easy to listen to end clearly enjoy having these discussions. My only regret is that it can't be all three of them more consistently all together. Sean, the central host who will show up week after week nearly rain or shine, does a good job of ring-leading and keeping the show moving along JUST enough without shutting the conversation down. Tends to run long, but has been brisker as of late. I love it either way, running long or at a speedy clip. Always learn something new, even as a life-long avowed geek.

I love the chats on new technology, the good and bad and also it's interesting to learn what my geeky brothers and sisters are doing out in Chicago.
