#34 | Muzak
“Elevator music” was once the sound of restaurants, offices, and elevators in mid-20th century America. But ironically these bland, string-driven instrumental tracks are never heard in elevators anymore. In this episode, we speak with Joseph Lanza, the author of “Elevator Music,” and Julian Treasure, chairman of The Sound Agency, about the sound of Muzak -- the company that changed the way we think public spaces should sound. Episode transcript, music, and credits can be found here.

99PI for sounds
I am a big fan of 99% Invisible and SYSK and stumbled on this one through a 99PI preview.
The show is new, so there is not really much to review yet but the production level so far has been very good. If you are a fan of the production style of 99PI, give this one a try.
Also if you are a child of the 80s and 90s check out the 8bit sound episode, it will definitely resonate.
