Episode Info: In keeping with our theme of dealing with the man (or woman) in the mirror, we are going to continue discussing the building of important biblical character traits in your life. Today, we begin looking at the quality of responsibility from "The Power for True Success" by the Institute in Basic Life Principles. Responsibility is knowing and doing what God and others are expecting of me. The Biblical word duty describes the concept of responsibility. It is translated from the Greek word "o-phe-ilo. It means “to owe” or “to give the good will due” to another. The word o-phe-ilo is translated different ways in the New Testament. These include the words: ought, due, need, owe, and bound. The Bible describes several duties that are a believer's responsibility. 1. Paying on a debt of love. Romans 13:8 says, "Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law." 2. Supporting faithful ministers. Romans 15:27 says, "It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things." 3. Protecting weaker believers. Romans 15:1 said, "We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves." ...
