She did her first amateur night in Toronto just three years ago and hasn’t looked back. After her first night on stage, she won several local competitions for funniest comic. Single, a mother of three, Silvi Santoso recorded her first television appearance in Laughs (Fox TV) in October 2014. In 2016, she was invited to participate in the Soulo-Festival (Toronto), Highlarious Comedy Festival (Seattle), and Devil Cup (New York). She was a finalist of Brantford Comedy Festival (2014) and Go Yuks Yourself (2015), and semi finalist of She-Devil Festival (New York, 2014 & 2015). Not bad for a woman who started out hoping just to get her 8X10 hung up in comedy clubs. We ask Silvi if Canada is facing an influx of US refugees, what her kids think of her as a standup comedians and how they become her marketing managers and the pros & cons of being an Asian female comedian in the Toronto scene.
