This week Korey had a conversation with Biologist Steve Samoray. Korey and Steve have been friends since childhood and they reminisce over their memories growing up in Michigan. The guys start out discussing Steve's dad Tom who was a radio D.J. for years. The conversation then turns to bats. Steve and his wife Sara have been studying and working with bats for years. One of the many things they are working on is a way to stop White Nose Syndrome, a disease that is killing off thousands of bats. He also discusses why you should not be afraid of bats and what kind of species are in our area. Steve is also part of a "bat club" called Tennessee Bat Working Group which you can also be a part of. They also mention Steve getting concussions and how he got them, finding a "dead body", getting poison ivy, surviving a flood and a drought, and growing up a Pistons fan and later in life realizing how much people hated them.
