The Responsive Theme Responsive is a free theme developed by ThemeID with over 416,000 downloads from the Wordpress Themes directory since it was released in March 2012. This is a true responsive theme that uses a fluid stackable design and has an amazing amount of options for a free theme including some options that are typical of a premium theme. Responsive boasts an incredible 9 page templates including blog, blog excerpt, and landing pages and also comes with 11 pre defined widget areas. It also has support for custom header and background images. The header image is limited to 300x100 pixels which turns out to work very well with the stackable responsive coding to establish a consistent header size. It also somes with support for 4 unique navigation areas including top, header, sub header and footer. This lends itself very well to creating a magazine style of site. Responsive is an easy to use theme right out of the box and the customization screens are intuitive. If you do get stuck, the forums over at the Theme ID website are thorough and support is provided in a timely manner. Responsive is definitely worth checking out.
