Ep. #85 - What If A Cult Nuked the Australian Desert?
Look guys, cults are bad. HECK. We can all agree. But sometimes they do stuff that's just crazy for us to tell the story of anyway. In 1993, a Japanese cult that had spread throughout the world, may have just done something as crazy as nuking the Australian desert in an effort to bring about a new armageddon. Sound wild enough for y'all? It's wild enough for us - so strap into your seats, and hold onto your butts - it's another episode of The What If? Podcast. Want more? Very entertaining podcast
I came across this podcast on a rainy Saturday last fall. I was looking for something to listen to while doing some fall cleaning around the house. I found the show through a google search of, if I remember right, podcasts about zoological creatures. Basically a show about weird stuff. I started at the beginning and was hooked immediately. I've been burning through the back catalog since then, listening to a few episodes a week. I listen to 3-4 podcasts weekly and What If has become my go-to show.
The chemistry between Ryan and Spenser is incredible. It may be borderline questionable parenting sometimes, given the Sweary Boys propensity to, well, swear, but my 11 and 7 year old sons love the show as well. The youngest asks to listen to the show while we are in the car. They love the sounders ("...I'm still a piece of garbage" is their favorite) and like it when they get the jokes. The youngest also really likes the music. My wife enjoys it as well, which is cool because though we have been married 12 years/over a third of our lives we have very different tastes in some things.
Keep up the great work.
