Episode Info

Episode Info: My guest on the podcast today is Janine Canham. Janine is half English, half Lebanese, her family (including her) fled Beirut during the troubles and settled as refugees in England.  Since then she has worked for several top law firms in London and is now the COO of a major financial institution. She is settled in Hong Kong with two twin boys Josh and Sam who don’t like running too much, and two lovely dogs Lola and Jinx who are great trail runners! She is very well known in the HK running community as a star of the Ultra scene and is one of the world’s most experienced female ultra runners. She has done all of the Racing the Planet Desert races including Sahara, Atacama, Gobi and unbelievably Antarctica. In fact she is one of only several dozen women in the world to do the series. She has just recently completed MdS (billed as the hardest footrace in the world), the Comrades marathon in South Africa (80k all downhill) and more recently, she did the Everest Trail race with over 28000m of elevation in 6 days.  She is scheduled to do the 9 Dragons in Feb and the Bhutan Marathon in March. She is an accomplished speaker and has presented her racing exploits plus her career and family achievements on numerous occasions. Something she is very proud of is that she raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for HK charities through her running. Plenty of things to chat about so without further do, let me extend a warm welcome to Janine! And, to Mo Devin who will be hosting this episode of the podcast.
