Even when you're 100% sure you want to make a change in your life, it can still be scary. It doesn't matter what it is - changing jobs, ending a relationship, moving to a new city, starting a daily practice - there are always ups and downs laden with anxiety, fear, and self-doubt. Maybe you lose motivation, become unfocused, or feel discouraged. Maybe you isolate yourself, and completely abandon your efforts. This is all pretty normal behavior, and nothing to be ashamed of.
