Episode Info:

Singer-rapper Melissa Jefferson aka Lizzo was born in Detroit, grew up in Houston (where she got her moniker) and eventually moved to Minneapolis and collaborated with Prince. There, she rapped with a few hip-hop groups but was equally drawn toward the indie-rock world. If you have heard my interview with her, you can tell how far she has come as an artist and popularity. 2019 is her breakout year with the #1 single, Truth Hurts on billboard for weeks. I think you’ll appreciate this interview, especially if you don’t know her come-up story.
