Episode Info: The Two Gay Geeks chat with filmmaker Edd Blott and Actor Patrick D. Green about their new film, Escaping Freedom. We talk about how Edd got into film and specifically, what the catalyst was for this film and we ask Patrick how he became involved and his experience as a producer as well as an actor in a film. This interview is part of our Pride Month Celebration.   About Edd Blott Born in Spokane, Washington, Edd Blott spent his entire childhood telling stories. His grandfather, a painter, was instrumental in crafting Edd's love for the arts. In high school, his artistic focus shifted to cinema when he was first exposed to Jean Renoir's Grand Illusion. A newly born cinephile at that moment, his film school was studying world cinema from all eras and experimenting with whatever camera he could get his hands on. His credits include writing and directing the award winning social issues feature film A Tale of Delight, which can now be viewed online for free under a Creative Commons License. When he's not working on his next film project, he dates his wife Heather, helps raise their five kids, and advocates for mental health awareness. He doesn't remember the last time he slept! Green Born in Louisiana and raised in Texas, Patrick did what only a child of his impeccable and profound introvertedness could do. Seek out others to give him interesting things to say. A shy boy who found he could become other people by stepping onto a stage with the words of a playwright securely fastened in his head during his youth, Patrick determined this was to be his destiny. However, after graduating college with a degree in Criminal Justice and minor fields of study in Psychology and Theatre, he went to work for Children's Protective Services, helping child victims of physical and sexual abuse. After relocating to the NW in 2012, he again focused on acting, with a specialty in film. Patrick D. When they are forced to reunite, their polar opposite paths in life lead to an explosive outcome where each is made to come to terms with their own faults. Vincent is a pastor of a small church struggling with religious doubts and a burgeoning desire for another male pastor. Krystal, on the other hand, has devoted her life to full on exploration and hedonism through the arts yet struggles with the labels placed on her as a result. As each other's closest confidant as well as biggest critic, Vincent and Krystal attract and repel like magnets. When the siblings reunite, everything comes to a head, both within their relationship and within each of their individual lives. Featuring Patrick D. Green, Kelly Godell, Jonathan Daniel Miles, Bri...
