Dawn Hershman is a tenured professor of medicine and epidemiology at Columbia University, where she leads their breast cancer program, and a nationally recognized expert in breast cancer treatment, prevention, and survivorship. She is also a Komen Scholar. In this episode, Hershman discusses the different struggles of survivorship and coping with the emotional effects of the treatment. After the treatment, survivors grapple with what has happened to them and the possibility of recurrence in the future.
