Part 2 of 3

Garry Ingraham grew up in a Christian family -- though it was a home without much warmth or love. On top of this, the church the family attended was legalistic. An unplanned, unwanted child, Garry craved affection and relational connection ... the reality was he carried a deep father wound. A realization began to set in: Garry was developing a growing attraction to other guys. He prayed for years, begging God to take away his addictive, homosexual lifestyle.

Turning Inward:

Garry felt like an exhausted, old man by the age of 21. He cried out, "Jesus, I've made a total disaster of my life. I don't even know if you want what's left of it, but if you do, you can have it!" That was it -- things started to change.

Shame, addiction, and sexual brokenness began to fall away. He found a Christian community where he was both accepted and called to masculinity. Today's he's happily married to Melissa (a one-time lesbian) and they have two sons.

After 12 years of church ministry, Garry founded Love & Truth Network, a ministry that comes alongside Christian leaders to help equip them to create redemptive, compassionate and transformational environments for people experiencing all kinds of relational and sexual brokenness.
