How do we get from personal growth to global transformation? Our Guest: Daniel Pinchbeck is an American author who the New York Times Magazine has said is destined to change our culture. He is the author of Breaking Open the Head: A Psychedelic Journey into the Heart of Contemporary Shamanism, 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl, and Notes from the Edge Times. Featuring a preface from Sting and an introduction from Russell Brand, his new book How Soon Is Now? looks at the ecological crisis we are facing on the planet as a rite of passage or initiation for humanity and proposes a "blueprint for the future" - how we must redesign our technical and social systems to avert the worst consequences of ecological collapse. Daniel is a co-founder of the web magazine, Reality Sandwich, and Evolver.net. He was featured in the documentary, 2012: Time for Change which you can rent on YouTube, and is the founder of the think tank, Center for Planetary Culture. Daniel writes for many publications, including Esquire, The New York Times Magazine, The Village Voice, and Rolling Stone. In the 90s, he was chosen by The New York Times Magazine as one of "Thirty Under Thirty” Daniel has also appeared as a guest on The Colbert Report.
