Deborah Mendes joins Scotty on Podcast Bay today! Deborah is doing awesome things within the podcasting space: She helps people get guest spots on shows that are actually a great fit, and then repurposes the interview so that you can use it in your content, as well as to get more interviews. She and her team work to provide a solid representation of you within your content, and add a bit of automation into the mix for your ease and peace of mind. -Trash- Lack of preparedness tend to get Deborah a little worked up. Prechat is important for rapport, and it helps to create a much better episode, so use it to your advantage. It's necessary for both guest and host. She uses swearing as an example for when people don't research a show before getting on it. Scott describes the vibe people get when they're not comfortable with swearing and end up in the Podcast Bay group without looking into it first. Searchability is horrible within the podcasting world. She says that Podible helps in this by giving people a variety of ways to search for shows and by recommending shows you may enjoy. Podcast Bay is not searchable on Apple Podcasts, so Scotty was more than happy to contribute on this one. Deborah hates the word pitch. She feels like it puts the host on some kind of pedestal. She also feels that the host/guest relationship is about creating win-win situations and adding depth to the relationship itself. -Treasure- Being behind the scenes and supporting people in their dreams gets Deborah up in the morning. She loves being able to facilitate getting a person's message out there. Guesting on podcasts services the speaking circuits as well. She explains that aside from the flexibility of being able to do spoken content from the comfort of your home, there is also a story telling angle.
