SBP Podcast Mobile Film
About This Show
The Voice of Mobile Film™ is for everyone who ever wanted to or is curious about making movies and videos using smartphones. S. Botello Productions™ (SBP) is a pioneer in the mobile film industry, one of the first–if not the first–to bring films shot with only mobile phones to the big screen in a traditional film festival style. Our vision is realizing itself through the growth of the mobile smartphone filmmaking industry over that past few years. We began our quest in 2009, though founder Susan Botello had envisioned the camera on mobile phones, would be capable of shooting video for the journalism, film and business industry around the world after September 11th, 2001. We began with the International Mobile Film Festival branded as International Mobil Film Festival™.
Others who supported this vision and we're working to realize it in different parts of the world, along with mobile filmmakers, contacted SBP. We decided to collaborate with other mobile film festivals and support each other to realize the dreams of many filmmakers. Together we stood stronger in support of those who dream of being a part of the film industry through mobile phone filmmaking.
SBP hopes these podcasts will inspire and inform you to participate by sharing your stories through film with the camera that is always with you above and beyond any other technology or mobile device. Your smartphone can help you realize your dream to be a filmmaker and to share your stories around the world. Become a Patron for all the work we do for this growing global community as a platform for everyone regardless of age or experience to share stories through film using the camera on smartphones. www.Patreon.com/sbppodcast

Upcoming International Mobile Film Festival in San Diego Episode 22
1 day ago
Our brand ambassador, Aaron Nabus and myself discuss the upcoming International Mobile Film Festival taking place April 28 and 29 in San Diego. The festival is exclusively focused on all things mobile film. The theme this year is a celebration of making movies and videos with smartphones globally. We share the logistics of the festival, the location, the dates, the times and what attendees can expect. We asked Aaron Nabus, our brand ambassador, to share the names of the filmmakers in this year’s film festival #MFF2018SanDiego. We spoke a bit about why we are celebrating mobile film as a theme this year and then we talked a bit about some filmmakers who are coming back this year. Aaron shared some information about our VIP Special Guest Speaker, Tim Russ also known for his role as Tuvok in the Star Trek Voyager television series. The entire podcast is an open conversation about our film festival and the community Aaron has come to know since he met me during our mobile filmmaking panel during Comic-Con in San Diego 2016. We also talk about the current state of mobile filmmaking regarding the fact that Hollywood is now publicly showing interest in making films with iPhones. Aaron and I discuss the new official Cosplay Category for our film festival which we are looking forward to presenting during our film festival next year. Aaron is captivated by the Chicken Story from our film festival’s beginnings…so we talk a bit about that and you’ll have to listen to the podcast to know what our film festival has to do with chickens. This episode was recorded on March 17th, Saint Patrick’s Day. It’s a bit relaxed and casual but that is why you may enjoy the natural flow of the conversation discussing our favorite and most important event of the year. There are some tips about making films and videos with smartphones mixed in this podcast.
