Worst case scenario thinking often has us assuming that change will be bad, and not in our best interest. The limiting beliefs that this thinking is built on has us believing that we aren’t capable of thriving in a new environment because we aren’t good enough, we aren’t in control or there is only one path to success (and somehow we are not on it.)

Any change that we experience  (whether we choose that change or not) presents us with possibility and opportunity if we choose to look at it that way.

The insurance change may allow therapists to collaborate with professionals in new and different ways. It may nudge some to move outside of the insurance system to gain more freedom.  The change may not happen at all.

So how can you apply this to your life? Is there a possible change coming (or one that has already happened) that you are approaching with doom and gloom? Are you fearing a change in the algorithm or a change in Facebook Ads? Are you fearful of a competitor entering the market? GDPR was a big change that impacted how people interacted with email marketing.  I didn’t love when Apple Podcasts changed their app.

Change is constant and we have no way of knowing the real impact of change before the change occurs.

Are you doubting your ability to be successful despite a change in circumstance or condition?

You are capable of being successful in a variety of conditions. There are so many ways to be successful. There is no one right way to run a business. There is no one way to run the particular kind of business that you are running. You don’t have to do things that way that other people do them to be successful.

One of my favorite examples of this is Shanna Skidmore who ran a successful finance business for creative entrepreneurs without using any social media --- so often we are told that we HAVE to be on certain platforms in a certain way to be profitable or to grow. This simply isn’t true.

Don’t assume a change will be negative and remember limiting beliefs are just beliefs.  They can be changed to promote new feelings and new behaviors that you are seeking. We can learn to change these beliefs by identifying the belief, discovering its roots, recognizing that beliefs can be changed, replacing it with a more helpful belief and then practicing this new belief until we feel that it has become solid.

If you are interested in learning more about changing limiting beliefs, episode _________ is dedicated to just that.

Alright, everyone. Thanks so much for your time and attention as always. It’s a real pleasure to do this show, and I don’t take your choice to listen for granted.
