New "Kahnversations" Podcast with Actor
Angelique Cabral!

In this episode of "Kahnversations," we interview Angelique Cabral.

Angelique Cabral currently stars as ‘Colleen’ on CBS’ hit comedy LIFE IN PIECES. She is currently out in the indie film ALL ABOUT NINA, written and directed by Eva Vives. Cabral co-starred in Zoe Lister-Jones’ comedy, BAND AID, which premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.

Cabral graduated from high school as Valedictorian, summa cum laude and was recruited to Indiana University with a prestigious academic Wells Scholarship. While there, she double majored in French and Musical Theater, studied abroad for a semester in London, attending the British American Dramatic Academy, and then lived in Paris for a summer where she attended IES (Institute of European Studies) school.  After graduation she moved to New York City in 2001, where she pursued her dream of becoming an actress.

On television, she starred as the female lead in the comedy series ENLISTED and had a recurring role on DON'T TRUST THE B IN APARTMENT 23. Additional television credits include GREY'S ANATOMY, FRESH OFF THE BOAT, TRANSPARENT, THE ODD COUPLE, NCIS: LOS ANGELES, TWO AND A HALF MEN, CRIMINAL MINDS, CHICAGO P.D., BACKSTROM, STATE OF AFFAIRS  and BAD JUDGE.

Her feature film credits include FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS and a role in the independent feature THE PERFECT FAMILY, opposite Emily Deschanel. The film debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival and screened as the main attraction at Outfest in 2011.

Her stage credits include the Off-Broadway shows TAPE, JESSE GARON LIVES, and RUBIROSA.

Cabral was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised in Carmel Valley, California. She considers herself an “ethnically ambiguous mutt,” with a mix of English/French on her mother’s side, and Hispanic/Native American on her father’s side.  She is certified as a Teaching Artist under The American Place Theater, and has worked in public schools teaching at-risk youth about books and plays and how to express themselves. Also, Angelique is quite the “Yogi” and is a certified Kundalini yoga teacher.

There are so many inspiring podcasts with fabulous stars out there. But their careers feel light years away from ours, don’t they? Wouldn’t it be great to hear from the guy who just booked his first pilot? Or the kid finally doing a studio pic after a bunch of low budget indies? Or the woman who’s been a series regular a few times but is only now becoming a name? What about the guy who’s been on a show for years and you know his face but what’shisnameagain? Or that actress who is now a freakin’ showrunner???? How’d THEY do it, right? How did they transition from relative obscurity, bartending and bottle service, to buying that house in Brentwood? We’re producing “Kahnversations,” a podcast that provides access to THOSE people -- your immediate predecessors -- so that you can learn from them while their battle scars are still fresh.

In “Kahnversations,” our own Ryan Bailey interviews some of Lesly Kahn & Company’s working actors, directors, and writers in order to learn how they got started in Hollywood, the challenges and hurdles they faced, and how they overcame the odds. (They also dish out some crazy stories!) Listen in and enjoy as these entertainers speak candidly about their paths, processes, and experiences. You might even hear a bit about how Lesly and the Kahnstitute have influenced and shaped their careers.
