About This Show
Hosted by an independent-minded old school journo and belligerent centrist who tells the truth and isn't afraid to offend both sides, this 10-13 min daily podcast explains and analyzes the issues of the day from a different perspective. Because it emanates from San Diego -- a safe distance of more than 3,000 miles away from the "talk way" (the chatter corridor that connects New York and Washington -- it's not blinded by politics and partisanship. It's fair, but it's also tough. It doesn't set out to persuade you or convert you, only to make you think.

But when I wrote this very thing in a column, some of my Irish-American readers were furious at the comparison to Mexican immigrants. After all, they said, Mexicans come illegally and the Irish came legally. Well, yes and no -- on both counts.
