RTP 015: The Duality of Morality
Jun 16, 2015
·
46 minutes
The Duality of Morality The internet is for porn, plain and simple. No one cares about Pinterest crafts and Etsy knickknacks. They want to see tits, ass, MILFs, and busty teens. Do I have your attention, yet? Good. What if I told you that there’s a darker side of the web that is fueled by the sickening desires of disturbed individuals? A side where little girls are slaves to old men, women are used for breeding purposes, and extreme torture, even death are highly celebrated and valued. How can we, as a race of people, do this to one another? It's all a matter of choice. It’s no different than supporting abortion, but opposing the death penalty. Mindlessly consuming Starbucks, but ignoring the needs of those less fortunate. It’s easy to freely pick and choose where you fall on the moral spectrum. Why? Why are we okay with one extreme of the spectrum, but opposed to another? Why do we turn a blind eye to things that are clearly wrong, but accept things that are “less” wrong? I don’t have the answers, but together, we discuss the connections and disconnects between these questions. Ask yourself, “Where do I stand, morally, on these issues?” The questions we ask each other: Why do people enjoy porn but abhor human trafficking? Why are people for abortion but against the death penalty, and vice versa? How can people spend money on luxuries, but not give to those in need? What you'll learn if you give a listen: The difference between contractual obligations and slavery. The connection between pro life and charity. This episode of the Round Table Philosophy Podcast is also brought to you by Namecheap, where you’ll get 24 hour live support via chat, phone or email, 1-click WordPress installs, easy-to-use website builder, design services, marketing services like SEO and PPC.
