Episode Info: Tony and Sarah sit down to discuss some of the shows they feel deserve a reboot or at the very least closure. Its not very often a show, especially a cartoon, reaches a real conclusion in the canon of the story. Shows such as Pirates of Dark Water has great story and characters, but was never allowed to reach any kind of real conclusion because it was canceled before it could end with any kind of satisfaction. Other shows, such as The Super Mario Brothers Super Show, were canceled for a myriad of reasons. Regardless of the reason they were canceled it doesn't mean they couldn't have an amazing second showing on a number of different networks or platforms. Services such as Netflix or Hulu could create an amazing second wind for shows like Swat Kats, Pirates of Dark Water, Gargoyles, or any of the huge number of Hanna Barbera Cartoons that came out between the 1950's and the 1990's. Some shows did see small resurgence in the form of The New Adventures of Captain Planet, or The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest (a lot of adventures going on in the Hanna Barbera-verse). The Riot crew discovers that a great classic of the age, Inspector Gadget, has gotten new life breathed into it via a Canadian production group and Netflix. Some of the best discoveries are of course found on the internet and with the help of YouTube anyone can find their favorite shows in some form or fashion. The best example would have to be Boy Meets World, a show that helped inform an entire generation of young children, to include Tony and Sarah, can be in its entirety on YouTube (Seriously. Go check it out now). YouTube channels such as this one are directly in the spirit of what The Reflective Riot is all about: Persevering and spot lighting the great pop culture and entertainment that helped shape us and make us smile.
