The LP ticket for POTUS is confirmed as of Sunday night, May 29, 2016: Former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson, and his running-mate, the newly minted LP member and former Massachusetts governor William “Bill” Weld. Ryan & Tabor provide an alternative, Rothbardian analysis of the winning candidate’s pitch to seize upon the national debate stage, the nature of political libertarianism in general, and the Libertarian Party in particular. In fact, this “surge” in political libertarian activity is plainly irrelevant. Politics is a lagging indicator, and one must gaze on in awe at the systematic deviation from, or ignorance of, private property and the Non-Aggression Principle by the men who populated the LP’s debate stages, and those who now populate its ticket. There is much work to be done.
