Episode Info:   THIS WEEK we chat with Creatrix Tiara. Tiara started interacting with others online in chat rooms at 10 years old while IRL living in Malaysia. Over the years Tiara’s geographical path has included locations in Malaysia, Australia and the U.S. While Tiara’s geographic life shifted, Tiara’s online life seems to have had an upward trajectory in notariety and impact due to the candid and eloquent vocalization of immigrant and queer issues. ----more---- Like many Online Content Creators, Tiara’s work going viral has not balanced notoriety with financial freedom. But perhaps that will change with the Queer Lady Magician show Tiara is currently doing (the next round of which will take place at the Melbourne LGBTQ Festival Midsumma from January 30-February 3, 2019). Judging from the voluminous body of work, Tiara will no doubt keep writing and creating for as long as possible. This passion to analyze, share and question is what first led me to Tiara’s creations and is why I love keeping up to date on what Tiara is doing.   If you like this episode, feel free to   Items mentioned in this episode: -Creatrix Tiara’s website AND  Patreon page -Virtual Expat Podcast review of Tiara’s work from July 2017, episode 40 -ABC (Australian network) “What’s On Your Phone” series -Grey Matter -Savage Garden’s “Crash and Burn” song in sign language -”All My Friends Are Leaving Brisbane” (movie) -Tiara’s Educate Deviate Education blog -Tiara’s Viral blog post ”Goodbye, Ello: Privacy, Safety, and Why Ello Makes Me More Vulnerable to My Abusers and Harassers” that was picked up by the Washington Post AND The New Yorker interview that ensued -Slut Walk AND Tiara with a poster of her viral quote -Gaby Dunn article on the financial hardships of being a YouTuber  Would love to hear from you! Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn  & you can even leave a voice message on Speakpipe Where to find Virtual Expat Podcast: Virtual Expats Podcast website You can subscribe on : iOS , Android devices, RSS, and our email list: for weekly podcasting updates Music courtesy of Damon Castillo, , song "I Hope You Figured It Out" on the "Mess of Me" album Check out all of our projects here: Podbean hosting site: Get 1 month free,
