I fell in love with sugar. But I did not when I was in Japan. I did not like sweet breakfast when I first came to the US. But less than a year I realized my morning started with granola, yogurt, fruits and orange juice. I had dessert after every meal. Gradually meals became an excuse for sweets. When it was warm it was an excuse for a scoop of ice-cream. It all became a reason for sweets. All this never happened when I was back in Japan. What was so attractive about sugar? Why are we so attached to sugar? Soda, milk, pasta, pizza, and lots of fruits all so sweet and almost everyone loves sugar. How much sugar are we taking? Is it too much? Where is it hiding?
