Episode Info:

Behind every “overnight success” is a story. It’s years of hard work, trial-and-error and early mornings or late nights oscillating between figuring it out or talking yourself out of quitting.    And sometimes it’s working in an industry that you once loved but after 9 years, it's time to walk away.    On today’s episode I’m speaking to Emily McDowell. Emily became an accidental entrepreneur after a greeting card - ONE greeting card changed her life. She doesn’t have an MBA, no one taught her how to be an entrepreneur (unless you count google), she wasn’t backed by a major brand.

In this episode we discuss:

  • Empathy
  • What NOT to say when someone is going through a health crisis
  • How Emily became an "accidental entrepreneur"

Emily McDowell is a writer, illustrator, and entrepreneur who specializes in chronicling the human condition. In 2012, she left a successful career in advertising to launch her greeting card line, making cards for the relationships we really have.
