Top 5 Reasons We're Childfree
Wonderful. You made me laugh, you made me think, and you made me crave an IPA before 9am. My husband and I have made the decision to be childfree, and we relate to absolutely EVERYTHING you two spoke about. Chris- you mentioned a boost in Bev's happiness and lessening of her anxiety-- we cannot tell you how absolutely freeing this decision has been and how HAPPY it has made us. For too long, we were wrapped up in the "Love, Marriage, Baby Carriage" paradigm, but when we finally acknowledged, out loud, that being childfree is an option [it's our option], it's like I got my life back. We can focus on what we love and have the time and energy to do it, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, my husband and I will always be able to put each other first. We have so much fun together. It's so endearing listening to the two of you banter and giggle and match the same wavelength-- that is the relationship that my husband and I have and it's so great. And I don't think it's an unwillingness to sacrifice what we have to have kids- it's just a different path. We're full. Our lives are full. We've found happiness, we've found joy, and it's our choice to continue to foster that. A paradigm shift within our generation is taking place, a shift where the decision to be childfree is not questioned or scrutinized. At first, being at the forefront of this wave made me very anxious, but now I'm very excited. Thank you for your words! Keep em' coming.

Thank you, Chris and Bev!
My husband and I are childfree, although it's not something a lot of people understand. We're used to being asked, "When are you having children?" and us saying, "We're not." and then hearing, "Oh, you'll change your mind." I mean, the amount of times I've heard someone say "you'll change your mind" is crazy. CRAZY! Thank goodness your podcast exists! I'm 33...I've felt this way since I was 25. I look at people my age, and think to myself, "What? You have a kid who's 11 years old? How is that even possible?" I don't feel old enough (even though I guess I'm plenty old to have a child), but it just doesn't feel like something I've ever wanted or ever will want. Listening to Chris and Bev is both refreshing and calming. The things I could never actually say out loud (to other people) are the same things I'm overjoyed to hear you both tackle on-air. Apparently, I need more childfree friends. You're awesome!

One of Us
So refreshing to encounter you two. You are us (or we are you!). Married, mid 30s budding careers and we are at our peak happiness. We adore our lives and hearing all the things you two do, and how you tackle all the pressures from social settings to bingos is just exactly what we've been through. So nice to hear people like us because finding others that are like minded seems to be so rare. Thank you for sharing your hearts and thoughts; it's both validating and refreshing.
